Kevin Lee schools Rogan on the GOAT topic

there's absolutely no argument that can be made to put MM over GSP , GSP dominated his division and won a belt in another weight class, maybe if MM beats TJ but then again flyweight is weak

You are wrong sir! There was one hell of a LOT of HUGE GSP fans on this forum. Right up until the Conor fan boys started showing up. Then suddenly without knowing GSPs career any knowing who he'd faced and how good those fighters were, Georges started getting shit on all the time .

Answer me this, what fights did GSP ever "cherry pick" ? Bisping is a shit answer, first fight coming back after four years. He still fought a Champion and came back to make $$$$ . So damn hypocritical shen fans of Conor liked he fought Nate a 2nd time rather than defending the belt or fighting Mayweather for cash over defending a belt. GSP had one other option when he came back ,that was to fight Woodley who ( even though is a great fighter ) is a terrible draw.

Anyway, other than that one return fight , name fights in GSPs career he "cherry picked" ?

Yeah, I would like to know where the bias came from. I remember seeing a clip of them training kicks together and they seemed fine then. Anybody know why?

The best MMA fighter of all time is Jon Jones, he's the guy who can beat everyone else. The GOAT of MMA is Conor, he's the most successful prize fighter of all time.

So even with Kevin Lee added to GSP’s vote tally, it’s still

And it’s still not close.
 
all this tells me is that everyone and their mother have an opinion on who is GOAT.

Wow. You need to be really dumb to think my account date shows how long ive been here. I dont care about the Conor arguments, since im not even a fan.

GSP always had fans. I never said he didnt. But also had tons of haters for his performances against Condit, Diaz, Hardy and Shields, for example.

Then he returned against the weakest champion of them all, after having the MW division stalled with the UFC and Bisping for like a year. He promised to defend against Bobby Knuckles but he ran scared talking about collitis and vacated the belt. Now he is suddely healed and talking about money fights. Cherrypicker and liar.
 
The real truth is that manlets are disqualified from GOAT consideration.

Joe has been showing his lack of knowledge so often recently it's fun seeing him get put in his place

He used to be awesome but now I'm not even sure he watches half the events, his commentary and MMA related podcasts have gone downhill pretty sharply and he clings to the cringiest and most embarrassing arguments like Jones being innocent and Ronda being the Queen of MMA

Don't know what happened honestly but he's gone from being a breath of fresh air to a guy who just shills whatever the UFC want him to that week
 
I agree with Kevin Lee, and I have stated a similar opinion. If MMA continues to improve, some of the great fighters of today will look like slow sloppy lumberjacks to the people watching MMA 20 years from now.

Too many fighters today can't even maintain high performance for the duration of the fight e.g. the number 4 p4p guy in the UFC can't even fight for more than 2 rounds without running away from his opponent. Many people in the MMA community believe it is because "MMA is so tough and blah blah." I believe it is because they are not the best possible humans for the sport.

The average background story of an MMA fighter is a delinquent teenager or drug addict who couldn't excel in any other sport, but he loved to fight and get in trouble. So, he did a little wrestling in college, started fighting for a questionable promotion and decided to become an MMA fighter.

Listen to Kevin Lee, Dominick Cruz, Matt Brown, Cody Garbrandt, Alex Gustafson and almost all the contestants of TUF, Dana Looking For A FIght, Dana's Contenders and etc, and they all have very similar stories.

The humans with the best possible genetics for MMA are not yet flooding the sport, so we still see people with little experience smoking more experienced dudes.

I believe most of the GOAT contenders of today will end being looked as "pioneers" with a very few exceptions. Future fans will not recognize these fighters as their GOATs (if the sport continues to improve and thrive).
