The overreaction to that fight is ridiculous.

Jones was facing an opponent on short notice while coming off of a layoff and was tentative because he didn't want to screw up the DC rematch.

OSP/Jones was totally one sided. OSP's effective offense consisted of one punch and he literally got picked up and ragdolled by Jones multiple times.

DC actually looked much worse against an undersized, out-of-shape Anderson Silva at UFC 200 because he was fighting while making the same calculation that Jones was at UFC 197.

Stephen Neal made it to the NFL and became a starter despite the fact that he chose to wrestle instead of playing football in college

If Lesnar had actually bothered to put in the work in NFL Europe, he likely would have made the Vikings roster within a year of his try out.

DC might break a bone fighting Jones. Best bet for DC is to wrestle Jones and tire him out. But Jones can handle DC's wrestling and Jones is stronger than before. Jones hates DC and is determined to beat his ass. Could be a long night for DC. Jones is a better striker and the superior physical specimen.
