Conor fought Floyd like EVERYONE thought he should fight Floyd. Come straight ahead, like Maidana, put pressure, throw a lot of punches. That has been proven to be the most effective gameplan against Floyd. Obviously, now that he lost people are criticizing his approach, but before that everyone was saying that would be the only strategy that could get him a win.

Btw: He gassed because he was not effective. The less effective you are at a task, the harder your brain works to figure out solutions. That takes energy. Missing punches takes energy. Getting punched hard takes energy. He gassed because he faced a much better man than him. And before getting tired he was already losing rounds. He wasn't tired in round 3 and Floyd outlanded him in power punches. Same in round 4 and 5.

Yes. And even if the punch had been legal, it's not like the ref jumped in to stop Conor from finishing Floyd, because Conor himself didn't try to finish, he grabbed Floyd from behind. So even if the punch was indeed legal, which it wasn't, fangirls wouldn't have shit to bitch about since Conor grabbed Floyd instead of trying to finish. It would have been Conor's fault, not the ref's. Even if the blow had been legal, ref would still be right in stopping the fight. This leaves fangirls with no real valid arguments.
