Why oh why are the UFC asleep at the wheel? Imagine Messi, Lebron and Brady, at the peak of their careers, forced to sit on the sidelines because they'd higher offers from other sports? It seems the UFC are ok with disappearing from the front pages of TMZ, ESPN, FOX etc?

They had one of the top 5 names in all of sport, making covers of GQ in-between appearing on top late night tv shows, and they blew it to save a buck? Do they think Tony Ferguson Kevin Lee can fill the void? Just pay him what he deserves, 60m+

Because this is outrageously small time from an organisation hoping to rival soccer. Imagine Real Madrid letting Ronaldo go to baseball because they couldn't pay him. They'd sell the entire team to keep their most marketable figure, even though he's now past his peak. The UFC have no excuse for having Conor sit out at the height of his powers. This period will be looked back on as the time when UFC blew it.

They don't need him. They get profit every day without "superstars".
They're cutting costs on production, fighters, and get more $$$ than Ferittas ever did.

He's only causing trouble and last time he actually cancelled couple of OTHER fights, let alone not fighting himself.

Yeah, give him 100 more million dollars, we want him back.

What makes you think they aren't offering enough cash?

Maybe Conor just doesn't wanna fight as of right now, and it's not hard to understand why.
Dude has enough cash.

Are you suggesting they should just meet his demands, no matter wtf they are? That doesn't seem like good business tactics.

The men you named are all champions and wouldn’t sit out their prime unless they were injured. TS

Helax, he’ll be back and it’s going to be hjuudge

He’s got some on going legal issues you may have noticed.

He may lose the right to get a visa to the US.

TS is full of shit as is described below.

He’s worth it for the spectacle, but not for the skill.

If they pay him huge money for his next fight, and he loses (which he probably will), then what?

He completely loses his value as a spectacle once casuals realize that they’ve been completely duped about their hero; and the UFC’s investment in Conor is all about the idiot fanboys and their desperate need for him to prove that he’s invincible. (Even though he already got starched and choked by the 19-11 all time great Nate Diaz).

It would only be worth it if they could keep the myth going.

But then there’s Khabib...

Imagine Ronaldo high on cocaine and whiskey throwing a dolly through a Liverpool bus window, getting arrested and facing jail time in the UK. Wouldn’t happen but if it did, he wouldn’t be flying to a match in the UK. And might get suspended completely by the Club and bans in the Uk, internationally and at home.

Here you have an example of a fucking high level player - highest level.

However, on 25 January 1995 he was involved in an incident that attracted headlines and controversy worldwide. In an away match against Crystal Palace, Cantona was sent off by the referee for a kick on Palace defender Richard Shaw after Shaw had pulled his shirt. As he was walking towards the tunnel, Cantona launched a 'kung-fu' style kick into the crowd, directed at Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons, a fan who had run down 11 rows of stairs to confront and shout abuse at Cantona. Simmons was alleged to have used the words "Fuck off back to France, you French motherfucker". Cantona followed the kick with a series of punches. A lengthy ban from the game was regarded as inevitable, with some critics calling for Cantona to be deported and never allowed to play football in England again, while others called for him to be banned from football for life.[31][32][33]

As well as the inevitable disciplinary action from his club and the Football Association, Cantona was also faced with a criminal charge of assault, which he admitted to on 23 March, resulting in a two-week prison sentence, although he was freed on bail pending an appeal.[34] This was overturned in the appeal court a week later and instead he was sentenced to 120 hours of community service, which was spent coaching children at Manchester United's training ground.[35] At a press conference called later, Cantona said, in a slow and deliberate manner:

Cantona then got up from his seat and abruptly left, leaving behind him a packed media room surprised and baffled.

In accordance with The Football Association's wishes, Manchester United's initial action was to fine Cantona £20,000 and confirm that he would not play for the first team for the rest of the season,[37][38] which ruled him out of first-team action as Manchester United were still in the hunt for a second double. He was also stripped of the captaincy of the French national football team by national coach Aime Jacquet.

The Football Association then increased the ban to eight months (up to and including 30 September 1995) and fined him a further £10,000.[39] The FA Chief Executive Graham Kelly described his attack as "a stain on our game" that brought shame on football. FIFAthen confirmed the suspension as worldwide, meaning that Cantona could not escape the ban by being transferred or loaned to a foreign club.[40]

True.

Unless Conor is fighting, I don't watch UFC anymore.

The UFC wont touch him until the legal stuff is blown over, doesnt mean that they maybe already have a contract, i think if he will fight it will be late this year.

Come on, a Clown doesn't deserve so much. He is entertaining, but the guys in the devision are Monsters. I understand why he doesn't wants to fight.
Give him a break. when Money is over he may return. Until then, let us enjoy fighting skills.

He’s not fighting because he’s fucked up like Cantona and waiting for the hammer to drop.

He has to be cleared from his legal problems first. He has a sway of lawsuits and sanctions coming his way. Just look at the Jones fiasco. Everyone is going to want to squeeze Conor pretty hard. Including the fighters and people he injured. And well they should. Fuck him.

It's beyond cash, Conor wants shares in the UFC, something they'll never agree to.
