It's so boring without Conor - Why aren't UFC offering him enough cash?

conor is pussying out, confirmed

would rather buy clothes from gay designers than fight khabib

I am honoured to live in Conor's red panty night era.

I am also honoured to live in the Colby porn star era. The new cash cow sells out arenas.

Imagine Ronaldo high on cocaine and whiskey throwing a dolly through a Liverpool bus window, getting arrested and facing jail time in the UK. Wouldn’t happen but if it did, he wouldn’t be flying to a match in the UK. And might get suspended completely by the Club and bans in the Uk, internationally and at home.

Here you have an example of a fucking high level player - highest level.

However, on 25 January 1995 he was involved in an incident that attracted headlines and controversy worldwide. In an away match against Crystal Palace, Cantona was sent off by the referee for a kick on Palace defender Richard Shaw after Shaw had pulled his shirt. As he was walking towards the tunnel, Cantona launched a 'kung-fu' style kick into the crowd, directed at Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons, a fan who had run down 11 rows of stairs to confront and shout abuse at Cantona. Simmons was alleged to have used the words "Fuck off back to France, you French motherfucker". Cantona followed the kick with a series of punches. A lengthy ban from the game was regarded as inevitable, with some critics calling for Cantona to be deported and never allowed to play football in England again, while others called for him to be banned from football for life.[31][32][33]

As well as the inevitable disciplinary action from his club and the Football Association, Cantona was also faced with a criminal charge of assault, which he admitted to on 23 March, resulting in a two-week prison sentence, although he was freed on bail pending an appeal.[34] This was overturned in the appeal court a week later and instead he was sentenced to 120 hours of community service, which was spent coaching children at Manchester United's training ground.[35] At a press conference called later, Cantona said, in a slow and deliberate manner:

Cantona then got up from his seat and abruptly left, leaving behind him a packed media room surprised and baffled.

In accordance with The Football Association's wishes, Manchester United's initial action was to fine Cantona £20,000 and confirm that he would not play for the first team for the rest of the season,[37][38] which ruled him out of first-team action as Manchester United were still in the hunt for a second double. He was also stripped of the captaincy of the French national football team by national coach Aime Jacquet.

The Football Association then increased the ban to eight months (up to and including 30 September 1995) and fined him a further £10,000.[39] The FA Chief Executive Graham Kelly described his attack as "a stain on our game" that brought shame on football. FIFAthen confirmed the suspension as worldwide, meaning that Cantona could not escape the ban by being transferred or loaned to a foreign club.[40]

So Cantona was a high-level athlete who became more a liability than a benefit. An apt comparison.

The story was so riveting I looked up the missing quote. At a press conference called later, Cantona said, in a slow and deliberate manner: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much."

I wish he would stay gone so we can have peace and order in the LW division. I want the guy carrying the belt to actually be the best in his division.

It's not boring at all. Just bring back Mousasi and Nick Diaz and book Dern against Shevchenko please.

He did go on to become captain as well as HOFer but he was never really the same, retired at 30. He was top of the world at 27 like Conor when he fucked up.

You really believe his "if the money is right" excuse?
<Lmaoo>
Imagine Real Madrid letting Ronaldo go to baseball because they couldn't pay him. They'd sell the entire team to keep their most marketable figure, even though he's now past his peak.
LOL that's not how team sports work. :D You still need 11+ players.

Good call, them Brits don't fuck around, while in the US you can basically buy yourself out of any charges. Disgusting.

Why oh why are the UFC asleep at the wheel? Imagine Messi, Lebron and Brady, at the peak of their careers, forced to sit on the sidelines because they'd higher offers from other sports? It seems the UFC are ok with disappearing from the front pages of TMZ, ESPN, FOX etc?

They had one of the top 5 names in all of sport, making covers of GQ in-between appearing on top late night tv shows, and they blew it to save a buck? Do they think Tony Ferguson Kevin Lee can fill the void? Just pay him what he deserves, 60m+

Because this is outrageously small time from an organisation hoping to rival soccer. Imagine Real Madrid letting Ronaldo go to baseball because they couldn't pay him. They'd sell the entire team to keep their most marketable figure, even though he's now past his peak. The UFC have no excuse for having Conor sit out at the height of his powers. This period will be looked back on as the time when UFC blew it.

"It's so boring without Conor"

LoL

Lineker VS Kelleher
Jacare VS Gastelum
Dos Santos VS Strickland
Not a big WMMA fan but the main event was as well a good beating to watch

didn't u have fun this past weekend?

You're a Conor fan not an MMA fan. Which is fine, but pls leave Sherdog to people that actually love the sport.

TS you sound like a filthy casual.

He has a signed contract that he refuse to honour, so it's a built in excuse to avoid the real top dogs. He knows he sold idiots like you a phony product and realizes that he's going to be exposed if he fights them, and that would hurt Conor Incorporated. Can't have that now, can he?

If Conor is the only thing that interests you about MMA then you are nothing but a casual anyway.

"It's so boring without Conor"

Filthy casual detected.
