The story was so riveting I looked up the missing quote. At a press conference called later, Cantona said, in a slow and deliberate manner: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much."

He did go on to become captain as well as HOFer but he was never really the same, retired at 30. He was top of the world at 27 like Conor when he fucked up.

Because this is outrageously small time from an organisation hoping to rival soccer. Imagine Real Madrid letting Ronaldo go to baseball because they couldn't pay him. They'd sell the entire team to keep their most marketable figure, even though he's now past his peak. The UFC have no excuse for having Conor sit out at the height of his powers. This period will be looked back on as the time when UFC blew it.
