In mma being a great athlete is not enough, so cut the crap with the A level specimens

You are right, Chael is just shit.
Kinda how I feel about the "Athleticism level" of boxers. They are hilariously overrated.

99% of them would be gassed within 2 rounds if they had to grapple.

To all Sage and Pico Lovers.

You have it in you or not, despite the genetics.

You can't teach the grit of a Jon Jones, Rowbie Lawler, Michael Chandler, Junior dos Santos and many more.

Very true

Demetrious is A-level.
Too small for other big money sports.

Kevin Lee is A-level.
He chose to focus on wrestling when he was young, because he was also too small for football or basketball.

That bodybuilder who scared away Cody Garbrandt is also an A-level athlete. Cody didn't want anything to do with a guy sporting a Kevin Levrone type physique.

Lesnar was an A level athlete and he managed to win the UFC HW strap with only a year of training. He was probably roided but so was everyone else.

War Shallowking.

I'll just repeat my prior post.

Lol at saying no-one can dispute the following fact and then go on to state your own opinion. I kind of get where your coming from but the argument is flawed.

You're saying it's fact that 'A level' athletes are more likely to have 'grit' than non A level athletes.

Firstly what is 'grit' and secondly what defines an A level athlete? That's why this is such a strange discussion.

Heart is something you can't teach no matter what sort of physical athlete you are, it's just a mindset and being a good athlete in the sherdog sense (fast, big, strong, bodybuilder physique lol) has no influence on that.

It is fact.

'Grit' and 'heart' and 'will' and 'determination' and 'toughness' and 'mindset' and 'ability to push through challenges', and 'ability to train at the highest levels', etc are things getting to the pro leagues of top sports tests, and weans out the weak, allowing only the top percentile best in those areas to succeed.

So again I will say that if you take 100 non A level athletes there is NO GUARANTEE EITHER that they have those qualities or can succeed.

What we KNOW for absolute sure is that 100 A level athletes will have those characteristics in MUCH higher percentages than the non A level athlete group and as a group the 100 A level athletes will have far more success getting to the top of MMA if they similarly dedicate themselves to the sport.. No one with a functioning brain can dispute that.
