thats not really true. For example, I used to be a bit of a gear snob when it came to music recording and guitar. I got that way from hearing equipment like tape delays and vintage guitars that sounded like heaven to me.

I was a goth for a time as a kid. I came to realise that people all try to be like other people, unless they don't, and if they don't, they're clinically insane.

It's incredibly hard for people to be unlike others, it's just how many of those others there are that makes them seem more or less common.

You can pick any religion or philosophy because it sounds right to you. You can have plenty of issues with certain beliefs in it. You can come to arrive at something like say X religion is true through you own thinking and etc. What being a snob is like is more akin to indoctrination. Indoctrination = the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.
^this is a bad way to pick up any belief system

Just as you can like Korn for many reasons you can be X religion for whatever reasons. It is the deigning of things good ONLY BECAUSE the in group says so that is the issue here.

But you are pretty much stating that you cannot believe things through deep thought and just find someone to parrot...so you are a pretty limited thinker.
