If José Aldo would've gotten the shot vs Sterling instead of TJ, would he have won?

I could see how Sterling would dominate because of size though. He's a featherweight now. Aldo is doing work at bantamweight. I thought Aljo looked great vs Kattar at his natural weight class.

With all this said Aljo vs Aldo at 135 would've ended with Aldo whopping that ass imo.

Aldo gassed having a patient striking battle with yan and was helpless in the championship rounds. He gassed being hugged by a smaller merab. He'd gas being held by sterling who is even stronger and bigger than merab, and frankly harder to hit.

Aldo pretty much only fights strikers for a reason at BW. He can't get people off him the way he used to in his prime. His tdd is still good, but he settles with his back on the cage. Even Martinez of all people kept Aldo against the cage untill the ref seperated them. Sterling would just wall and stall until Aldo is a sitting duck, and unless the ref seperated them, aldo won't be moving. It would look like volk vs. Aldo, but instead of 5 minutes of clinching, it would be 15.
