If Jon Jones moves to HW and win the title, would he become automatically theGOAT without any doubt?

Let's say that after he beats Cormier he will go to HW and defeat Werdum for the title, would he become automatically the goat of all mma? This could happen until the end of this year.

Yah it's possible.

But it isn't likely.

no....he needs more years undefeated and more fights

oh, and fewer eye pokes.

He also needs to shed being a decision machine.

The last legit LHW he finished was Lyoto in 2011.

That's a long time for the "GOAT" to not finish an opponent.

Without any doubt. Why is it even a question?

He already is and has been for some time.

Winning the HW title will just help his cause.

He's not far off now.

It's possible. But then, if he loses three in a row or something he'd lose that. (as unlikely as him losing three in a row is)

So he'd have it - but not solidified.

A hw going 1-0 wouldn't qualify GOAT status, regardless if it is an impressive win. If Jones goes say, 10-0 at hw, then yes, he would be the absolute GOAT.

Already the lhw goat. Seems he'd need a few defenses at hw, though. That's coming from an absolute hater

He may already be the best ever, he would have to seriously fall off to not be the best to ever do it by the end of his career

Jones had a HW frame he just chose not to fight in that division, probably a good choice seeing how hard time he had with a big frame Gus.

He needs to beat the Top 5 HW to be considered GOAT I think

And there you have it..."may already be the best ever". No way of knowing until he starts actually fighting in the big boy division. People calling Jones the GOAT, without Jon having ever won a fight at hw, defies common sense. If you want to argue that Jon is some sort of p4p king, despite being a hw who's dominated (mostly) men he's dwarfed at lhw, then ok. It's highly subjective. But to extrapolate that because of his success at lhw, he would neccessarily dominate hw as well, is silly and nonsensical.
