The Scottish Premiership is back underway! (although I don't think it should start until September)

Hearts host Celtic for their first game of the season tomorrow. Very tough start for Hearts.

After a shaky start Hearts have just gone a handy away win to Partick and are now up to 3rd place, within 2 points of Rangers and Celtic! <cheer>
 
Hearts beat Partick Thistle 2:1 away, things are shaping up nicely.

Anyway Rangers are off to a little bit of a rocky start, currently in 5th place and Celtic are pulling away now 4 points clear. ie a game in hand no matter what

Hearts pick up a safe home win 1-0 against bottom of the league Dundee.

Celtic are now starting to pull away from the rest of the division

while Rangers need to show a lot more consistency to stay relevant at the top.

Celtic have won their last 3 and have not lost a game yet. Aberdeen have won their last 4 and their only loss so far was to Celtic.

No one cares about this 1 team league that get their shit pushed in group stages of the CL.

Maybe if rangers or someone makes it competitive but the Scottish league died the day rangers got done.

Yes Rangers' absence and now weakness have left a bit of a power vacuum at the top of the league. It's a problem now Celtic are throwing their weight around and no one can really stop them.

It really would be better for the Scottish leagues to join in with the English and Welsh ones in terms of money, fans, exposure, media deals, better competition making you better, more teams at your level rather than David Goliath etc. but for political reasons a lot of people won't have it. They are still talking about moving Rangers and Celtic over though but I'm not sure if it's going to go ahead.

Also like you said the jump between the national league and Euro cups wouldn't be so steep on the one hand Scottish teams wouldn't probably qualify very often but on the other hand they are usually kind of out of their depth there.

Celtic steal the semi-final 1-0 from Rangers with an 87th minute goal.

Can't say it's undeserved they generally had the upper hand.

Meanwhile in the league Celtic have now won 6 in a row and are 10 points clear of Aberdeen. Aberdeen in 2nd place have lost a bit of momentum with 1 win and 2 losses in their last 3 and Rangers have snuck up past Hearts to 3rd. Hearts have slipped with a loss and 2 draws in their last 3 and need to pull their socks up if they are going to stay relevant at the top of the league.
 
Well unsurprisingly Celtic have won the Cup Final, a 3-0 domination. They have also now won 7 in a row and are now 8 points clear of Rangers, which is basically impossible to catch up on. Rangers are moving past everyone else though.They have not lost in 7.

Hearts got a big 3-0 home win against Motherwell yesterday and on the whole are pretty steady in 4th place.

Rangers 2:1 Aberdeen
Ross County 2:2 Hearts

Wednesday 30th

Hearts 2:0 Rangers

Hearts now up to 3rd place and only 2 points behind Rangers. Still 8 points between Rangers and Celtic though. But how Motherwell performed at Celtic Park certainly shows that Celtic are not invincible even though their last 10 games are 9 wins and a draw.
 
I actually started to fallow the club for a second during the "Romanov Revolution". I believe they finished second which broke so many years of Celtic & Rangers finishing 1 & 2. I was interested to see if the broke through the Old Firm monopoly . Love the badge . Never could understand why a team from Edinburgh couldn't be as big and wealthy as teams from Glasgow .
 
Well that's the main problem with Scottish football and the main reason why there should be a united British league, the disproportion between Rangers/Celtic and everyone else makes the premiership a farce.

Celtic this season are 15-1-0 with a GD of 33 and are already 11 points clear of Rangers, who are 7 points clear of Aberdeen in 3rd place. Hearts just drew with Partick Thistle at home 1-1 and Celtic beat Dundee at home 2-1. They have been looking more mortal lately but they are still winning. The real battle is for 3rd place between Aberdeen and Hearts. Aberdeen lost 2-1 away at Ross County.
