General MMA Discussion & Future Lines - May, 2017

Pissed I missed that Hunt line but still hitting at +115. I think Derrick Lewis is legitimately awful. He can win if Hunt's chin is gone and he catches him with one of his sloppy hooks, or if Hunt manages to take himself down and let Lewis on top of him like past opponents. But I'll take my chances and bet against Lewis.

Also hitting Tybura a bit now; will add when ITD comes up. I live for low-tier HW and LHW
 
People are misinterpreting what I meant when I compared Andrade/Joanna and Yair/Edgar to Max/Aldo. Literally all I meant in my statement was a reference to odds and public perception. I was not trying to relate but the fight styles at all. Simply that there is a large amount of people taking Max as a dog but i feel will be let down after the fight, that is all.
 
If UK bookies release Hunt at dog odds I will spunk in my hand and rub it into my skinhead with joy. I see Lewis having zero success in this fight and finally having his awful fighting ability exposed. WAR HUNTO.

Very confident on the double. Bethe Correia arguably lost vs Marion Reneau. Holly will get her win here. Also, Arlovski's chin is completely gone and he's done. Tybura will KO him and I'll play his ITD line as well very big.

This makes me very happy, sadly I only use betsafe, 365, and Ladbrokes, but when I get those sick odds I'll be placing a 5u bet on Hunt for sure. I give Hunt a 80% to win this fight.

I disagree, Hunt has an excellent chin for a heavyweight and Lewis doesn't pack 1 punch knock out power, he usually gets on top and TKOs from full mount. Lewis probably lost that fight vs Roy, he was definitely gifted that decision imo. Hunt has great TDD also so I doubt Lewis will end up in top control at any point in the fight. Hunt has 10x better striking technique than Lewis also, idk man, don't get me wrong, Hunt is coming to the end of his career, but he's fighting at home in front of so many fans, his motivation will be as high as ever. I also think Lewis sucks real bad, and gssses quick as hell.

Yeah the Nelson decision was Odd, i had money on Lewis and couldnt believe my luck.

You could be right though, when fighters get to 35+, always seem to be anticipating their decline, i think its 50/50 but thats factoring in Hunt declining, if he's the same Hunt I thought went into the Lesnar fight then i go more 60/40 in his favour. I think after all this rambling i'v talked myself into a small/medium bet.
 
Gonna watch a few of Lewis' fights back first though
 
I kind of like Chiesa if I get +odds.

Kevin Lee is an awesome wrestler but Chiesa is just so good at grabbing the back. He also dropped Jorge Masvidal in their fight and Jorge's chin is better than Lee's imo.

Surprised Jones is that big of a favorite. Still not too tempted on Cormier though.

By the same token, Chiesa couldn't put Mas away and ended up getting choked later in the fight. You're right though, Chiesa is very crafty with his back takes and hes a nightmare if he gets there. He was also getting brutalized by Dariush in the first round before Beniel made the mistake of giving up his back trying to stand up after the takedown.

Chiesa hasn't been very active in the past few years either and he's coming off a ruptured disc in his back. Personally, my initial lean is Lee and I bet him at -120. I think he has the advantage standing and on paper the grappling should be very competitive.

Hunt has really only been taken down by the best wrestlers at HW, but I still wouldn't call his TDD great by any means. Stipe was able to take him down basically at will. The bigger issue for me in this fight is that once he's down, he's like a fish out of water and Lewis may have the most vicious ground and pound in the division. I do think that BB is going to have trouble getting the fight to the ground, but if he gets on top Hunt is going to be in serious trouble.

Hunt was also brutally KO'ed only 2 months ago. It seems like he's rushing back a bit too soon IMO. I'd probably take Hunt as the dog if I had to bet the fight right now, but I wouldn't feel very confident about it.

In all fairness though Stipe is on a completely different level to Lewis when it comes to wrestling, also I feel like those TDDs were easy for Stipe because he outstruck Mark from the start, leading to Hunt gassing faster than normal. You're right about it being a quick turn around for Hunt, but honestly Lewis was getting beat by a shitty Travis Browne before he got the TDD and then Travis was lost. I find it difficult to see Lewis winning. I am quite confident in Hunt getting a KO in this fight.
 
anyone else here going to bite on the reem at -130 already got 3 units in at -150 someone convince me not to do more haha

Ill be on Gastelum. I tihnk Gastelum is on the way of becoming something really great, and Weidman was gassing super hard and on the verge to getting finished by Mousasi. Weidman should really get a easy fight just to get a win and some wind back in the sails.

Holm vs. Bethe. I believe this is the fight for Holm to regain confidence. Bethe is very weak. She's only been able to fight against the best because of trashtalk. I believe in a Holm knockout before the third round.
