TEMECULA, Calif. – Despite a catchweight limit installed for Friday’s Bellator 193 main event, headliner Fernando Gonzalez still missed weight. It was his third consecutive infraction.

Bellator 193 takes place at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif. The night’s main card airs on Paramount following prelims on MMAjunkie.

Gonzalez (27-14 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) was scheduled to meet Lorenz Larkin (18-7 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) in a 180-pound catchweight fight. He came in three-tenths of a pound overweight, though, and as a result was fined 20 percent of the “show” portion of his purse. Half of that fine will go to Larkin, and half will go to the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).

Also, in a new wrinkle, Gonzalez will be required to forfeit 20 percent of his “win” money to Larkin should he emerge victorious.

For a 178-pound catchweight fight this past August at Bellator 182, Gonzalez came in at 180 pounds for his fight with Brennan Ward. And against Brandon Girtz at Bellator 174 in March 2017, he was 174 pounds for a scheduled welterweight fight.

Gonzalez fought at light heavyweight and middleweight earlier in his career before coming to Bellator, where he has been for his past eight fights.

Outside of Gonzalez’s weigh-in hiccup, all remaining fighters on the card made weight. For complete Bellator 193 weigh-in results, check below.

Bellator has to consider him a MW, at this point its on Bellator now to do something.

Dude is tough and solid fighter but he always looks pretty doughy. Either give up on the binge eating or give up on being a WW.

Fucking pathetic. He's not even that bigger of a WW. He's the Bellator Hendricks. Don't offer him another fights until he moves up to middleweight, just like they did to Njokuani. He had enough chances.

Tyrell on ttbe undercard?

3 times in a row. Crazy. Is that just the way he is? I need to assume that he eats like a pig when he doesn’t have a fight

No way that’s the best shape he could be in.

He needs to move up to middle weight for sure

Fernando smoking blunts and eating cheetos always missing weight. Glad this fight is still on.

I think they’re expecting the fight to suck. His last fight was a snoozer. He needs a little more time to develop into a killer, his last fight was a lot of wrestling.

Smh Fernando. Wouldn’t surprise me if he got popped for weed after this too. Dude is a good fighter but the 27-14 record is a reflection of his work ethic and how serious he’s taken the sport. Get your ass in shape if you want to be legit man smh.

I agree. Isn’t the most exciting, but isn’t a bad fighter. I refuse to believe that that is the best shape he could get in. Dudes meals during the weight cut probably consist of tacos and quesadillas.

Gonzalez needs to move up to 185, no more excuses. He's been scheduled for catchweight bouts, and still can't make weight, even when his opponents do. He can make 185, so just stay there. I think he'd do fine in Bellators MW division.

Yeah Bellator has to say we wont book you at WW anymore, he cant even hit 180. He's a MW and he could slide into MW div nicely. Fight someone like Storm, Kato, Salter.

Pathetic is being over by .3 and being fined, no 1lb allowance like typical weight classes is complete horse shit.

He just needs to get his body down or we need some weight cutting reform, but damn I just feel like 185'ers are a cut bigger.
I hope Larkin stiffens Gonzo.
I hope he doesn't :D

GTFO dude 180 lbs is not a weight class, it is catchweight which is already a allowance, this motherfucker can't make 170 so go to fucking 185

González gives 0 fucks to the sport!!!! He comes off even at a catchweight

What is worse if he would probaby get his ass beaten for 2.5 rounds and ends winning by some weird KO or SUB in the last minute
