Having such a strong cultural bias isn't much better than having strong racist feelings, imo.

America is hard on the heals of Canada. Hillary and the DNC was going to be Trudeau on steroids. Bernie wasn't exactly a calming alternative to even a moderate conservative . Considering the progressive campuses, professors, news media, and the sheeple that roll along like tumble weeds in the wind it's no wonderDo you have any idea what is going on in Canada? Intelligent professors are getting shut down from speaking at Free Speech events being held in Universities because radical leftists have decided they are Nazis and threaten the University with violence and destruction if the talks are not cancelled. Canada's national media, The CBC, is labeling just about everyone who is not on the left as a racist Nazi. The Prime Minister is throwing around the word racist like it is going out of fashion (which it probably is given how much the left and the media use the word).
Canada is getting to a point where the radical left gets to decide who speaks, who does not and what is allowed to be said. What makes things worse is that they are supported by the media. Canada is heading in a terrible direction.
As an American in Quebec, I did not feel welcome, sure it's anecdotal, but it's a personal anecdote at least.
Granted this was during the Bush years.
Now Canada can no longer deny the disease on the left. Again for the hundredth time.
Maybe you just aren't a likeable person. I'm not fond of you, and I only know of you because of this sub forum.
I've been to Quebec myself and it was the only time I've ever felt threatened by not being a native. I know for sure I was taken advantage of by the locals.

I guess my point is that you're choosing to see the leftist bias in Canadian politics, and ignoring the nationalist sentiment because they're not winning currently.
In America, it's undeniable though.
The overlap between the regular right and far right is getting larger and larger.
This Sunday in Quebec City, a far right group called La Meute (Wolfpack) was planning to march in order to protest the extreme number of illegal border crossings flooding into Quebec this summer, and to call for tighter border controls.
What actually ended up happening is that La Meute never made it to their march. They were surrounded in a parking garage by Antifa protesters who far outnumbered them. The Antifa protest was declared illegal after they turned violent and started clashing with the police.

La Meute on the other hand kept it together, abstained from violence and disbanded from the parking garage peacefully.
The far left protesters justified their actions, claiming that La Meute is a racist group, and that calls for tighter border control and stopping the flow of illegal migration is just PR speak for being racists. Further, 2 members of La Meute were apparently seen in Virginia, marching along side White supremacists.
The flow of illegal immigrants has been steady since Trump took office earlier this year, but reached unprecedented levels this summer. The situation is so out of control that even Trudeau felt compelled to make a statement declaring that illegally entering Canada does not automatically result in an accepted asylum claim. The problem with that is though that it can take months if not years to sort out all of these asylum claims, during which time, the migrants live on Quebec tax payer's dime (we already pay the highest taxes in Canada in order to sustain the hopeless bloated and corrupt Quebec government).
TLDR: Far Right group plans to protest illegal migration and calls for tighter border controls, is instead thwarted by Antifa protesters who end up turning violent against the police while the Far Right group disbands peacefully. Also, calls to stop illegal border crossings are nothing but thinly veiled racism (according to Antifa protesters).
Sorry I can't let this , I love my Quebec brethren but you simply have no leg to stand on to complain about taxes .
You have far and away the most generous social programs in the country( universal day care , nearly free university, 6 grand for you to have a 2nd etc etc) all the while taking transfer payments( basically welfare from other provinces ) from better run provinces.
Look in the mirror if you want to complain about taxes
$7 daycare fuck me I pay $90 a dayI'll just say this: Quebec is really awesome if you're poor or lower middle class, or a student. Then you can really take advantage of things like $7 daycare (to be fair though, even regular daycare is much cheaper here than e.g. ON). This is a socialist paradise, which means it's financed by the taxes of people who actually do fairly well, which - believe it or not - includes me and my wife.
No one feels welcome in Quebec. It would be a great place without the Quebecois. As an American in Quebec, I did not feel welcome, sure it's anecdotal, but it's a personal anecdote at least.

They've been here for a looooong time.man, that's convenient that Antifa is now in Canada. Soros moves quick. very organized. who paid for their compensation, buses, hotels and meals?
Lets not forget they pay next to nothing in car insurance.Sorry I can't let this , I love my Quebec brethren but you simply have no leg to stand on to complain about taxes .

Except that their definition of neo-Nazi has been broadened to include Jewish homosexual Trump supporters. If the KKK and the neo-Nazis went back underground, so would ANTIFA.
LOL troll harderOk, so that's maybe, generously, 5% of the people in the photo. Does that mean they're all masked Antifa thugs?
They pay the difference elsewhereLets not forget they pay next to nothing in car insurance.
