Does anyone consider Bisping the best 185 lb fighter in the world?

do I think he's the "best"? no I don't. but I don't disagree with the #1 rankings as of now.

If he beats George I think he’s gonna retire.

He’s already thinking about retirement which as a motivational standpoint isn’t good.

Goerge is now the hungry challenger and bisping is the bored champ thinking about retiring and movies.

That never ends well.

If bisping wins and retires, what are the odds whitiker and GSP still fight for the vacant title to inufy it?

It makes sense that the UFC would rank him higher but these are independent media outlets that should be able to think more objectively. Bisping is the champion but Whittaker has a much better resume recently and Bisping's recent resume outside of Rockhold isn't that great at all.

You're assuming that the winner of GSP/Bisping will fight the interim title holder. That is your mistake. There is a champion, and there is an interim champion. The champion has a fight booked, and it is not against the interim champion. The champion is also talking about retirement.

"Maybe/hopefully" doesn't detract from the fact that Bisping is not fighting any top MWs and most likely will not before the end of his career.

There is nothing right now that confirms Michael will fight a top contender, or the interim title holder. There is no current reason to believe this.

Well considering Whittaker is out until next year, that fight was unlikely. Actually it was never likely in the first place, they were never going to give Whittaker the shot over GSP, but thats a different matter.

I'm actually assuming Bisping will retire after GSP.

He's the champion so they have to put him in at number one really.

Whittaker has an argument what with being Interim champion, undefeated at MW & coming off 8 straight wins including Romero & Souza, but Bising is Champion & coming off wins over Anderson, Rockhold & Hendo.

People might dislike him but if he's not number one he's sure as hell number 2 & yet idiots on here are not even putting him in the top five, laughable. Rockhold was starched by Bisping. Romero & Souza beat by Whittaker. Anderson & Weidman ain't in the argument right now.

Did bustamante get knocked out by the GOAT MW but some how was tough enough to fight another 2 rounds and win the fight? Did he fight a juiced up Beltford that was kicking peoples heads off? Step in with the champ on like 2 weeks notice after knowing he got his ass totally whopped in the first fight but end up knocking him out?
YOu dont think for one minute if bisping was offered to fight stipe miocic he would turn it down? He would take that fight on a weeks notice, i dont think he has ever turned down a fight..
So to your question... Of course i am aware of guys like Murilo and all the old school MWs, but like i said none of them are tougher than bisping..

I find it odd that just because he is the UFC champion EVERY MMA ranking outlet puts him at #1. He would not be the #1 ranked fighter in my MMA rankings. Would he be in yours?
