Do moderators have to delete good threads?

I see nothing wrong with Bisping's new nickname.

Also, the Lesnar Vs. Bears thread was wonderful.

But this thread also begs the question...who watches the mods?!

I think I should be allowed to choose 5 random people per week to be dubbed

speaking of moderating.... why hasn't this thread been moved to the support forum?

just curious

EDIT well I'll be damned...

I never understood wtf is the reasoning behind the sherdog policy to lock threads that have over 1000 posts in them. It's really annoying

Pretty sure that's for technical reasons. It bogs down the speed of the site/boards when there are too many giant threads out there for some reason. Maybe too much database junk to load up for those badboys.

Out of interest why no fighter bashing? NYBA is like the only Pro fighter who posts here anymore so it's not like the pro fighter is gonna read it(everyone loves Phil)

It's like the 10 commandments or U.S. constitution. Outdated, irrelevant, sacred and untouchable.

We do it once a week in the mod booth. Pull 10 names out of a big hat. Only takes one mod to overturn it.

You know your name's come up twice?

Somebody likes you.

some people just don't read the rules.

You mods should just let the threads go and hand out Dubs and bans. Who cares. Let them deal with the punishment

Where have all the good threads gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the good threads gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the good threads gone?
mods have deleted them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

I would say 90% of people on the forum disagree with your (the mods) work.

So you hardly please anyone.

The thing is, it really only appears that way, because people are more likely to complain than praise. When the mods make a bad choice, everyone goes on about it for days, but nobody says anything about the other thousands of posts that they took care of that legitimately needed to be modded or deleted.

The only thing I can complain about is the amount of duplicate threads they allow (sometimes half of the first page could be threads discussing the same thing), but I understand that with sherdog's traffic it can be hard to keep up with.

It's a simple problem really that I see no solution for:

People come here, and figure the idea is simple: Have something to discuss, make post discussing it. What they don't realize is, someone, a long time ago, wrote up an entire dictionary of specifics dedicated to making this one place seem different from the rest. Arbitrary rules and guidelines that are dictated, ultimately, by nothing but the owner of this virtual property's opinions, wants and likes.

To further the madness, those enlisted to enforce these ultimately arbitrary rules, are civilians here. The only single thread they all share that separates them from everyone else, is a blue name and buttons. There was no special test like there would be for a cop or a military officer. There were no requirements beyond who they knew. Ultimately, they're all just people who came to a place to discuss something anyway.

So really, it's outdated, arbitrary bullshit enforced by posters who had the right friends. Ironically, a system of forced classes that perpetuate the kind of ignorance and hostility the mods are purportedly here to prevent. A vicious cycle really.

No but seriously who's dick do I have to kick around here to get a tinfoil belt?

^wrong. mods are chosen for their unique resistance to scat porn and nothing else.

You bitch a lot. I mean a LOT. Just pipe down and stop complaining. I've been here for years problem free. If your thread got deleted it sucked or was in the wrong spot. Step your game up or get smarter or just stop complaining.
