Dmitry Bivol, the crushing puncher from Russia, is ready for his close-up.

The 26-year-old’s last two fights were televised in the U.S. (ShoBox and HBO Pay-Per-View), but now he’s preparing for his first world title shot, and it will come in a main event live on HBO.

Bivol will fight Trent Broadhurst for the vacant WBA light heavyweight title on November 4 in Monaco, sources told RingTV.com. Matchroom Sport will promote the show, and it’s possible a second bout will be added to the afternoon telecast.

Bivol (11-0, 9 knockouts) announced his arrival in 2017 with a knockout of Samuel Clarkson on ShoBox and then a stoppage of Cedric Agnew in June on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev rematch.

After Badou Jack vacated the WBA’s regular 175-pound title earlier Saturday, and in the wake of Andre Ward’s retirement (he held the WBA super title), Bivol and Broadhurst will battle to fill the vacancy.

Broadhurst (20-1, 12 KOs) is a rugged Australian whose lone defeat came in 2011 via knockout to journeyman Robert Berridge. But unlike Clarkson and Agnew, Broadhurst will come forward and make the fight.

Bivol figures to be a player in the 175-pound division for a long time to come, and on November 4, his journey truly starts.

Trent Broadhurst? Sounds like a character from the Simpsons.

There are some good prospects in the division but a guy I've never heard of is getting the title shot. Makes sense.

Badou Jack didn't want none of Bivol. Mayweather promotions does a great job of keeping it's fighters safe.

Jack probably is going to get a shot at Stevenson, why would he want to fight Bivol?

The Trent Broadhurst!?

Broadhurst could be changed to Broadthrust and he'd be a big name in porn if he's well endowed. I'll go with Bivol to beat the could-be pornstar only because I've never heard of the guy.

It? A little bit harsh.

Yes, a Freudian slip, I will not acknowledge an Asian as human.

It's? Or so u mean "he's" ? Lol. Was he raised in Russia but born in Kyrgyzstan?

I entirely meant to type "he's", I was on my phone. He was born in Kyrgyzstan, I think he moved to Russia due to showing great promise in boxing but I'm not sure exactly when. His interviews are in Russian so I never listen to them long enough to know much about his upbringing. Im pretty confident he'd have beaten Badou too, Gvozdyk and Beterbiev have had a hard time getting any real names...I was relieved when Bivol got his chance, but of course Badou gave up his belt and scampered away.

Is this the second coming of Shumenov???
