For the people in this thread that were asking the question....His dad is slavic (moldovan) and his mom is korean.....just wanted to make that clear

So both him and GGG are born in central Asia to East Euro dads and Korean moms and both became boxing world champions? Some kinda crazy coincidence. Or maybe half Asians are just super fighters.

It's not really that crazy, especially considering boxing is a big deal in these countries.

look into the USSR's policies of ethnic cleansing and forced population moving. lots of different ethnic groups (Chechens, Kazakhs, Koreans, Ukrainians etc...) were forced to move around. It's not that uncommon actually.

The funny thing is
at the beginning of the soviet union, it was encouraged by the government for chechans and other ethnics groups in russia to elope with each other to foster unity in a more blended society
