I'd say Joe B is just as good as Hendo, Dodson as good as Vitor, Cheal as good as Cejudo and Gooch as good as Okami. Rest of the contenders on both sides even out too. DJ is slightly unlucky cos he fought guys who were a tiny bit green but I'd say his best wins are just as good as Silvas.

If you add Travis Lutter, you got 11 defenses. Anderson made weight. It's not his fault Lutter came heavy.

Then he moved up and beat 3 LHWs. While not title defenses, Anderson's legacy would have taken a hit if he had lost any of these fights. So really 14 title defenses.

So why does DJ needs 22 defenses?

In his 14 title defenses, Anderson beat 2,651 pounds of opponents.

2651/125 = 21.208 (round up to 22)

DJ 11 defenses = Just a measly 1,375 pounds of opponents.

DJ has a long way to go.

22 is a stretch but it did cross my mind recently that Anderson really should have 11. He made weight and beat the supposed challenger in lutter. Obviously technically it doesn’t count but in my mind, morally it does.
