Hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) and determined by votes from its 30,000+ members of industry experts, the developers and studios that crafted the most groundbreaking video games of the year were honored. Awards were presented in 23 diverse categories, including exceptional achievements in technology, art, animation, story, and audio.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games took home six major awards during the evening, including the awards for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Character, Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Outstanding Technical Achievement as well as Action Game of the Year.

Belgian game developer Larian Studios was also highly recognized by members of the Academy for their work on Baldur’s Gate 3, awarding the studio with five awards including Outstanding Achievement awards across Story, Game Direction and Game Design, as well as Role-Playing Game of the Year and the prestigious Game of the Year.

Nintendo was awarded Adventure Game of the Year for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, while the team at Remedy Entertainment took home Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction for their survival horror title, Alan Wake 2.

The AIAS also honored the legendary Japanese composer and sound director, Koji Kondo, for his phenomenal contributions to Nintendo over his 40-year career including the iconic Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda video game series.

Composer Brian Tyler, acclaimed for his work on The Super Mario Bros. Movie, had the honor of presenting Kondo-san with the Academy’s esteemed Hall of Fame award.

“The 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Is that the code used to Hack the Gibson?

Baldur's Gate 3 and Marvel's Spiderman 2 were the only games to win multiple awards. Super happy that Spiderman 2 finally got their justly deserved recognition. It was such a fun game that was wonderfully designed.

Diablo IV winning Online game of the Year is.. meh.
It launched wonderfully but failed to hold onto its gamers.

Starfield won nothing and rightly so...
