What some people claim to have happened is that it is in the House's interest to have bigger pots more often, so cards are dealt to induce such result rather than completely random. In other instances, people have been caught cheating, the one I know happened a while ago so I am hazy on the details, but the gist of it is that the guy can see opponents hole cards.

I worked in the industry for almost a decade, and I don't believe it.

It's basically a license to print money and your reputation is everything, too big a risk.

You simply would not believe the effort they put into stopping players from cheating.

And most sites RNG certification (from third party companies) are open for viewing. Some sites have a lax stance on user botting as it helps create rake but after the Ultimate Bet scandal it would be site suicide for the cards themselves to be "rigged". They'd essentially be stepping over a dollar to get to a dime. With the tracking software used today someone would have come out with actual evidence over a large sample and not just "zomg I got sucked out on, it's rigged".

Most likely you just suck and don't understand how powerful variance actually is. I'm sure the 30 hand sample you're gonna tell everyone about completely nullifies the millions and millions of hands that have been verified to be actually random, though.

You're talking about the Super User scandal from UltimateBet years ago

That was centered around one employee here, Russ Hamilton who abused his position and his "Super User" account that can see hold cards to cheat.

There have been other scandals from other sites but the usual "the site is rigged" is just emotional rants from bad players 99% of the time.
