Dana White doesn't want to pay the fighters their worth. UFC is losing talent prime years and superstars because of it

We're reliving the stage of MMA where fighters were leaving the UFC to fight in Japan for more money, except today the money is in Dubai.

U Fight Cheap has always been a thing.
Been going on for longer than most of the people on this board have followed the sport.

My account predates TUF and it was happening then.

So "the sport" = UFC?

If your concern is for "the sport" why give a fuck about someone changing orgs? Francis is still technically in the sport, although he seems to want to be in a different sport (boxing).

90% of MMA is UFC, numbers are in the antitrust case

Because everyone is tired of reading this same old shit, off course people care but in reality these fighters made their decisions and chose fighting as a career, knowing full the financial status that comes with it isn't greatest.
You guys does not understand that this kind of business is ruining the sport

We as fans have a voice, the fighters too

Wake up

I'm in favor of paying out bigger performance-based bonuses. Incentivize the fighters to go totally bananas for the kill every time.

How is this possible? Are you guys fan of the sport ? Want the best fighters and talent here or not ?
The UFC very heavily pushed Dana White and The Brand to the fanbase meaning a lot of them are more fans of these things than the sport.

The way MMA promotes itself as well is more akin to pro wrestling were much of the media coverage is done "in house" again pushing a pro UFC agenda and what independant coverage we do get is often also strongly pro UFC due to threats or limiting access if it isnt.

ESPN posted this article today, which apparently has some quotes from the manager of some UFC fighters (probably Ali, he sounds kinda greedy) saying that he has guys who have already decided they're going to fight out their contracts and not re-sign with the UFC, for double the amount of their previous contracts, and instead move over to boxing. He calls the UFC a middleman, and in boxing they're cut out of the equation, and all of the money that would have gone to them will be dispersed elsewhere. He also claims that even if a fighter only sells 50k PPVs, they'll still do OK bc the UFC isn't involved.

I presume this is mostly a leveraging tactic, to ultimately get more money for his guys from the UFC (and possibly to see if any boxing promoters show any interest), but there could be a degree of truth to it.

All you have is a voice in this matter? How bout you as a fan actually do something about it other than crying online about it? You won't, because deep you don't really care.

You either have all the best fight under one place, or you get the boxing route. You choose which one you want. Can’t have your cake and eat it to

It's fine that a lot of people don't care that fighters are underpaid because it's not their problem. That is the natural way of things. But the people that vehemently support it or compare elite athletes income to like the homeless? That I just don't understand. Makes no logical sense.

The Reebok thing was such an epic fail. Sometimes I forget it was even a thing.

Yes, let's feel bad about millionaires as you regularly pass by homeless people in your neighborhood.

Arguably the most retarded things that people have been saying for last 20+ years I've been on Sherdog.

"Oh no poor him with his millions, but fuc* off you homeless and disabled and orphans"
fine case of whataboutism with literally no relevance to the topic at hand. shill.

Zabit, Cejudo, and Ngannou are not great examples of superstars...

Lorenzo kept UFC alive not Dana that’s why UFC 300 is trash

100 and 200 were all ran by Lorenzo he left after 200

That’s because they are friends in Highschool why don’t u ask all the fighters who made the big fights happen

You really think Lorenzo is the type of person to give you a big stake in the company if you weren’t instrumental?

He’s a ruthless casino mongrel, he wouldn’t be paying Dana if he wasn’t doing shit

I never said Dana didn’t do anything I’m saying Dana is more of the face of the company doing interviews for the media while Lorenzo was in the back doing all the hard work behind the scenes. Lorenzo played a HUGE role in UFC I don’t know one fighter who had a problem with Lorenzo but I know a ton who had a problem with Dana. A TON

Maybe because they clearly had a good cop and bad cop thing going?

Did you see the texts between Dana and Lorenzo from the antitrust shit?

They clearly think the same.

Fighters get pissed at Dana, Lorenzo comes in with a better offer, fighters end up feeling valued and appreciated.
