you would think being something as admirable as a firefighter would make it easy for the UFC to promote Stipe...but, they haven't even really tried

Just start blasting out promos of him saving women and children from burning apartment buildings and then hitting the gym after his shift is done.
 
Wait a minute...when MM is concerned everyone says "you have to promote yourself". How is it that now when Stipe is involved it's all of a sudden "Dana's fault"? Maybe he should take the same advice you all give MM (learn to promote yourself and stop whining about money).

They mention it all the time. Everyone knows. I like Stipe,its just there really isnt much to the guy. Just because he is the champion doesnt mean he is all that interesting of a person who can generate the same revenue as a polarizing figure like Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey or Conor Mcgregor.

On the flipside Georges St Pierre is a guy that you can tell is sort of an everyman,even though he has the body of a greek god,he is not really a typical fighter,and he shares his fears and doubts with the audience,and has an honest charisma and charm that connects with people

There really aint all that much to Stipe,hes just a good ol boy,trying to start a family.
I think they way he is being promoted is fine,because what more should they really do? Its the UFC's job to create stars,so they take a gamble on Francis because really,even if Francis is not successful,the people who normally would not care about this fight,want to see it,if only to see "the hype train derailed"

Stipe is like the klitschko's. Top of their sport but come across as very boring. Stipe seems like he mumbles a lot of the time as well, which probably doesnt help. MM is the same.

The fans decide who they want to get behind.
 
He just isn't interesting, fireman or not.

Maybe have him grow a handlebar mustache and come at it that way.

The issue is they have to run everything past a guy whos shit at his job
A manchild who got his position due to childhood pals and doesnt know how to promote anyome who isnt a mouthpiece! Shit he even anti promotes those who fight him for more pay !
The ufc has suceeded in spite of him rather than because of

Longtime fans can remember him shitting on oneof his biggest earning stars in gsp constantly , saying anderson silva was 'scared ' to rematch sonnen when in reality he was mid renegotiations , doing fuck all with the long time established p4p in mighty mouse etc
 
Lol don't blame it on the current social and political climate ya goof. Stipe seems like a nice dude but I'm a hardcore MMA fan who watches and listens to podcast interviews with him. His personality is as exciting as watching grass grow to outsiders and that's fine. Don't force it if you ain't got it.

Back in the day fans loved shit talking dana. Even the media loved him and his scrums. Only now because of the whole conor owns dana talk have fans started to turn against him.

When renzo was in charge dana was the mouthpiece. Now he acts like he is the owner. He isnt but I bet he makes most of the big decisions regarding fights and who to promote.

Stipe is easy to market. all american fire man. blue collar bad ass. even croatia opens up. have him coach tuf. America needs a champ like this now.
