He possibly really well can. There are a few guys on top that might deserve it more, but we all know the Irish phag from Ireland is done with UFC and we can count him out. Can also consider Alvarez for the spot but he got raped by Mr Irish Springs. I would like to see Dos Anjos too but yeah he's coming off a loss.

Anyone think that if Conor goes off to fight Mayweather, that Diaz might get the shitle tot with the hopes that if he somehow won he could lure Conor back?

ya lets just keep trying to eliminate opponents for conor to set up some conor vs diaz 3. i think khabib would beat diaz though.

the UFC is anticipating 2 huge events McGregor vs Diaz title fight/trilogy and McG vs Khabib title fight in Moscow

I doubt they'll want to diminish the possibility of these happening by having them fight each other
