Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up for treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter
Jam. 5:1–6

He who loves gold will not be justified, and he who pursues money will be led astray by it. Many have come to ruin because of gold, and their destruction has met them face to face. It is a stumbling block to those who are devoted to it, and every fool will be taken captive by it.
Sir. 31: 5–7

I don't have it in me, but I would suggest that you define capitalism first.

Wage slavery. Greed. Oligarchy.

That's likely not the best definition because I'm not sure what you mean by oligarchy, or by wage slavery for that matter, but I can agree that greed and Christianity are antithetical. If I wanted to be pedantic, I might say that one can be both, a Christian and greedy, because Christians are often just ordinary humans (imagine that).

Can't say that I know any legitimate socialist Christians. Socialism isn't compatible with the Bible.

It does seem to me that an economic system that relies on and encourages consumption is going to have some tension with a religion that preaches restraining one's consumption and humility.

Ordinary humans. Wage slavery is when companies dictate employees wages so they cannot save to get ahead and are depended on the job therefor creating an unnecessary competition in the workforce.

lol. Jesus was a tramp, he was a working man, he preached socialism. Is that not what Christianity is based on?

What you posted has nothing to do with being a capitalist.

BUT capitalism had reduced world poverty by 50% from like 200x to 20XX. Pretty sure Jesus would like that.

Also, you don't know shit about capitalism or christianity so maybe stop shitposting.

He never preached socialism ever. Tax collectors were hated and sinners.

Keep making yourself look stupider and stupider.

What economic system does not rely on consumption??? LOL.

Are you trying to out stupid the TS???

No. Jesus seems to be a man who would take the Macabee route of monetary management, ie financial control by the priestly aristocracy. In a theocracy, unfettered free market capitalism would most likely be seen as an evil of greed and covetousness.

Wrong. Read your Bible. It talks about personal responsibility, not playing the victim card of socialists.

The Christian Church exists for the sole purpose of saving the human race. So far she has failed, but I think that Socialism shows her how she may succeed. It insists that men cannot be made right until the material conditions be made right. Although man cannot live by bread alone, he must have bread. Therefore, the Church must destroy a system of society which inevitably creates and perpetuates unequal and unfair conditions of life. These unequal and unfair conditions have been created by competition. Therefore competition must cease and cooperation take its place. The fact u so mad makes me think you not down with god.

Socialism tries to bring Utopia to Earth. The problem with trying to reign in heaven in this world is you also have to bring in HELL for those that don't want your heaven.

There is nothing in the Bible promoting socialism. Period.
Socialism is not charity. It is a tax collector taking your money at gunpoint.
Charity is voluntary giving of money.

I know you are just a troll and kind of miserable you ain't doing shit on a Friday night. My condolences. Later.

Christianity needs to go back to its roots like opposing usury.

It is God's gift to humankind that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil
2 Thessalonians 3:10
For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
