This time in Strasbourg.

What exactly is the point in having these lists if the people on it are allowed to stay in the country and somehow obtain highly illegal firearms to carry out these attacks?

Virtually every attack in Europe is accompanied by "suspect is known to authorities" and on some kind of watch list.

Are the terror watch lists just another excuse to give big government/globalist minions all kinds of cash to do nothing of consequence, but appear to be doing something about terrorism? Oh, let's go to red alert. That will show them.

*Mod Edit*
Since the TS, here, forgot to link the story:

At Least 2 Dead After Shooting in Strasbourg, French Officials Say
New York Times Europe said:
PARIS — A single gunman — previously flagged by the authorities as a potential threat — opened fire in the French city of Strasbourg on Tuesday, killing two people and wounding 12 others before fleeing from the police, government officials said.

The gunman began shooting around 8 p.m. in downtown Strasbourg, near a popular Christmas market that attracts more than a million visitors every year. He remains on the loose.

In addition to the two people killed, six people were seriously wounded and six were lightly injured, the local prefecture said in a statement. Before the attack, the authorities had designated the gunman a possible security risk, it said.

Even worse than innocent people dying is the oncoming backlash against muslims.

It's a joke really. Somehow it's supposed to be reassuring , but the fact that authorities knew yet, never take proper action is sad.

But...but....Tommy Robinson is a hate preacher and that is not even his real name.

Edit: I posted a link from an ISIS shooting in France that was from March, not this one

It actually feels like it's been a while since the last terror attack in europe but maybe I missed one or two.

Seems Strasbourg has had a bit of a problem with Islamic terror the last few years.

Yeah. It's been three whole years since 130 people were massacred in Paris. And over 18 months since a couple dozen were blown to pieces and 800 or so injured at a concert in Manchester. Hard to believe.

I guess your being sarcastic? To me it felt like it was almost every 6 months.

The police have done a pretty good job on cracking down on jihadist organizations (who aren't exactly covert), but occasionally a lone nutjob will still slip through.

The likelihood of a big, organized attack, such as the one in Paris, has grown much smaller, but these sorts of indiscriminate acts of violence can hardly be prevented, not at this point anyway.

With ISIS pretty much done, the morale of jihadists to commit themselves to attacks is very low. But as usual they are pretty much just waiting for the next big terrorist group to rise. These sorts of "sleeper cells" still do exist, and need to be purged, before the Middle East gives rise to another big jihad organization to fill the vacuum.

Since none of you nimrods provided a link or details

Armed police have killed a suspect who shot dead three people in a series of attacks in southern France.

The heavily armed gunman hijacked a car and then took hostages at a supermarket in the town of Trèbes.

The man, named as 26-year-old Redouane Lakdim, said he was fighting on behalf of the Islamic State group.

He is believed to have killed and wounded his victims in three separate incidents which began in Carcassonne, 15 minutes' drive from Trèbes.

Later, President Emmanuel Macron said 16 people had been injured in the attack.

Among them is a gendarme who swapped places with a hostage. Mr Macron said the man, who has been hailed for his heroism, was fighting for his life in hospital.

He was shot several times, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins told reporters. One person has been arrested in connection with the shootings, he added.

The suspect is said to have been demanding the release of Salah Abdeslam, the most important surviving suspect in the 13 November 2015 attacks in Paris, which killed 130 people.
____

Crazy respect to the man who swapped places with a hostage. Praying he makes it through

The incident in that link happened in March this year. You fucking nimrod;)

When it concerns jihadists you should pretty much operate on a "shoot on sight" mentality. This is a war we are fighting, and these people are enemies of the state.

They're known because NATO and the US use radical sunni islamist to project force in the mid east and central asia. This kind of thing is considered "blow back" and deemed an acceptable cost for the supposed geoplitical benefits these assets bring.

Because lots of people are on those lists, and there are not only Muslim. I have a super right wing acquaintance that spends a lot of time in Ukraine with guys like the Azov Battalion. He's pretty sure he's on the list too because he gets a "random" search with extra passport control and questions each time he goes in or out of the EU borders.

Damnit!

Too many ISIS shootings in France to keep track of which one is which I guess
