Bo Nickal is the male version of Ronda

Seems to be doing pretty good for someone who has fought for two years. Get some perspective.

Also, why did you mention Ronda being an Olympian like that is relevant? Bo Nickal can easily go into the Olympics...he is better than most wrestlers who represent America in team USA - he is in another class from guys like Cormier and Henderson.

holy shit

has anyone noticed this before???

My mind is blown.

I don't think anyone had noticed it before, no.

I could be wrong though, but I don't remember no ginger champs. Has there been one?

How is he in another class from DC? DC actually went to the olympics and medalled.

Bo tried for the team and didn't qualify.

Or is the weight class Bo was in way better than DC's or something?

This is actually a compliment to Bo
Ronda won the belt and defended many times
Even though she lost she still fought beasts like Amanda nunes and young holly

For the amount I hear about him he is pretty Meh.

No idea why Brundage defended so well, then suddenly just gave up using his hands to defend about 15 seconds before the finish.

Overhyped, one dimensional, makes excuses after his fight and then has a big ass ego on top of it.

Atleast Ronda was an olympian medalist who was a pioneer for WMMA

I feel like I’m watching another great hope that’s about to run off the train tracks

Something about this Bo Nickal guy rubs me the wrong way. You would think someone who’s being pushed this much by the UFC would have some humility… but no … wtf was that post fight speech he gave?

This take is kinda wrong sir, because Ronda finished everyone easily.

Bo borderline struggled with Cody, had to nut shot Pickett to get the takedown....etc.

The more some of you shertards hate him the more i'm on the Bo war wagon.

This is just like it was for the Sugar Sean war wagon until all of you came around and recognized greatness.

Bo rubs most people the wrong way sir.

lol

Ronda finished the best the division had to offer in 14-60 seconds span most of the time
Until she fought the best the division had to offer and got hit so hard she still feels it, years later.

The thing with Bo will be how much he learns and adds to his skill set. If he doesn't learn anything, he'll be another Askren who gets exposed badly. If he does learn decent striking, BJJ, etc., he'll probably have a decent career in MMA. He's obviously skilled but too many of those "specialists" - including Ronda and Askren, never bothered to really challenge themselves and learn new things, so they hit the ceiling and can't figure out how to get through it.

It's hard to know which path Bo is following when they give him such easy fights and don't force him to face adversity. A loss now would do him some good.

Just like every other MMA fighter ever except GSP and Khabib...
Uh, no?

Plenty of other fighters haven't been hit so hard they ran away covered with a purple pillow, refused to talk about it ever, and then forced their way back having learned absolutely nothing only to get annihilated in 40 seconds.

Not sure what you're talking about tbh

I'm talking about her careeer dummy not her emotional response to a loss and how she quit the sport. I'm talking about the wins she had.

Dummy.

I really like Bo because he is an American wrestler, period.

However, I understand what people see and why they dislike it. He appears a little stiff, but he was never a pretty folk style wrestler either so I think this is just a "feature". As a comparison, Hendo always looked a little stiff (young or old). Then you have Bo's striking in the UFC proper and its been non-existent, so that sucks, can't argue it. However, Bo is a grappler and he knows what happened to Aaron Pico. Aaron Pico forget who he was and a paid a heavy price. Bo is a little too smart plus I think he has good people in his ear.

I'd like to see Bo evolve into some version of Hendo, even if he can't carry that kind of power, with a better takedown and submission game. I think that style would suit him.

Lastly, listen to Bo on Jocko's and Rogan's where he flatly states he has a ton of work to do, he states this repeatedly, but he also states he is prepared to do the work and confident he can get it done. Overall I like his attitude. On some podcasts is he over confident, sure, but he has fights and a brand to sell. I can't really fault any fighter for that and I don't feel like he is overly cocky. I'm not sure what people want him to say when they ask how he would do in a strict free style of folk style wrestling match against some dude who lacks his credentials within a sport outside MMA.

I don't know how Bo's career ends, when he steps up in competition after a few more fights he could get destroyed, I'm not sold he has the "it" factor. Time will tell. I do hope it works out for him because his work ethic and day to day discipline are second to none.
