BJ Penn vs Hall - Who will win?

If BJ isn't training with some incredible sport BJJ guys he's going to get grapplefucked. Hall won't stand with him and I imagine BJ may be too prideful and stubborn to avoid a ground exchange.

Hall uses some really exotic and unorthodox positions and set ups to employ his game. I'm curious to see how BJ will defend against all of Hall's leg attacks. Getting sucked into a game of footsie with Ryan Hall, Imanari, or Palhares is a dangerous game.
I'm guessing you haven't seen Penn roll....

Penn won Mundials in 2000. BJJ has come a long way in the interim. Even in his prime, he would've had a difficult time on the ground in this fight. Hall gave Rafa all he could handle in a very competitive match. He is close to being on the same level as the best competitors of his era, especially no-gi.

I'm well aware of what BJ looks like on the ground. If his training methods and game planning remain the same as it has since 2010 I believe Hall will have his way with him if they end up in a grappling exchange. BJ is a much more complete fighter than Hall no doubt, but he doesn't always do the right things during his training camp.

Honestly, I hope they both pull guard, sit down, play footsies for 15 minutes, and Dana blows his fucking top.

More seriously, can Hall take it to the ground if BJ doesn't want to go there? If I remember correctly (and it's been awhile) his Iminari rolls weren't particular successful in TUF (maybe hit it once?) and weren't successful at all against Maynard.

Hall's striking improved greatly under the tutelage of Wonderboy's father between TUF and Maynard. Would think that should continue.

Hall via UD via side-kicks.......

Vintage Caol Uno finish from BJ would be epic

Watch it be like Jacare vs Weedman, and NOT hit the mat-at all :(
Almost a guarantee of any match with two great ground specialist that would make for a great mma grappling match, a sloppy kickboxing match every time.

You GROSSLY underestimate Halls ground game.
In fact, do you even know who he is?
lol....

Hall beat Grey Maynards ass and VASTLY improved his striking. (You probably dont even know who maynard is...anyway)

Another ignorant facet you have is that Hall is one of the top 5 BJJ guys in the UFC.

Yeah...dude is that good.
BJ is awesome and may have the edge in standup, but bjj wise?

Thats going to be fascinating because both guys are VERY high level.

You did dumb dumb

No i didnt, you stupid fuck....

Biggest BJ Penn fan right here.

I think BJ might actually be tapped out by Hall.

I don't think there's a fighter on the roster that BJ could beat at this point in his career.

And it pains me to type those words.
BJ Penn no ka oi.

I wish BJ would just roid to the gills... he is hardly even a shell of his former self.

I think it’s decinitely possible for bj penn to submit Hall if y’all instigates the ground game.

More likely Hall works heavy volume stand up game plan, particularly the kicks, and wins a decision.

Bj Penn can’t win anymore, he needs to retire. I mean, I’ll be happy for him if he does pull it off, but it’s irresponsible to encourage him to keep fighting. He is such an empty shell of his former self at this point.

Have you see bj last fight againt silver ? I dont think he can beat anyone in the rooster

How many fucking times do you need to use the word literally in a post?

I would give almost anything to see the BJ of old return.

But he really should have retired after the Fitch fight.
It's crazy how differently he would be viewed among the current fanbase if he had retired after the Diego fight (which is about when he mentally checked out and stopped training with the Marinovich's). He would be near the top of everyone's GOAT list. He was too tough for his own good, was a tad lazy, and just hung around for way too long. Sad as shit how it ended. A guy that talented should never have ended his career going 1-7-1.
