Better mob movie: The Godfather or Godfellas?

Many are gonna say the Godfather but I enjoyed Goodfellas way more.

Enjoying something more doesn't make it a better movie though.

While The Godfather didn’t accurately depict mob life, from what I understand, it was a better movie. The Godfather is like a Ferrari. Goodfellas is like a Corvette (but not douchey like a Corvette).

The Godfather 1 and 2 are better IMO but Goodfellas is great in its own right.

Scorsese's best work is Taxi Driver and Raging Bull IMHO, those are films on the level of the Godfathers.

Goodfella's and Casino for me are him settling into a happy formula, certainly very entertaining to watch and with some bite but not really inspired to quite the same degree. Actually kind of wished he's stuck with that style more, most of his recent genre pictures have IMHO been pretty uninspired.

Best gangster film ever is Once Upon A Time In America if you ask me, Millers Crossing up there as well with the first two Godfathers.

Toughy. I'd say Godfather os the better film, but I enjoy Goodfellas just as much, of that makes sense.

Some say that “The Godfather” is the best movie ever made in cinema history. Perhaps I was too young for that time, but I find this movie boring as hell. “Godfellas” is way more entertaining in my opinion.

They are two of my favourite films. The Godfather is an epic drama about family. Goodfellas is a great movie about the mob.

Both great, for largely different reasons.
