It's hard to think of anything similar in other sports. The only two I can think of are

1) A free throw contest between Stephen Curry (around 90% accurate) and Shaquille O'Neal (~ 50% accurate).

2) A penalty kick contest between Messi and a defender who never shoots during games.

In both cases, Shaq and the defender are certainly better than the average guy--even an athletic guy who works out. The same is true of Conor's boxing. But they're taking on specialists who are much better.

A hockey or baseball player that hits things with sticks in a golf match against the world's top golfer.

Yeah, when Rocky, and Thunder Lips went at it. That was awesome.

couture / toney?

toney had an even better chance in that one than conor though, the 'puncher's chance' definitely applied there.

A one-legged man in an ass kicking contest, versus a four-legged man.

A boxer vs someone who isn't a boxer

Conor has considerably more boxing skill than the average guy....just not nearly Mayweather's level. This isn't the same level as an MLB pitcher playing quarterback in the Superbowl...even though it is very one-sided.

Roger Federer vs the best badminton player in the world

Prime Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, and Tiger Woods rolled into one Vs. a guy that plays putt-putt.

Messi vs an American football place kicker in a penalty shoot out.

It doesn't apply here?
I thought they were punching...

That doesn't make sense at all. Conor has actually trained boxing since he was 12. When he was 16 he turned to MMA. Toney had probably never trained MMA or any other martial art except boxing in his life.

More like a reserve goal keeper vs Messi lol, good players usually are just as good with Penalty kicks even if they play defense, not only the FW guys like Messi.

to a very small degree (almost infinitesimal). floyd's an all-time great known specifically for his defense. with couture / toney, it was HWs, smaller gloves, couture was somewhat chinny and toney had real power. wasn't surprising couture dove on the floor the first chance he got, he didn't want to risk getting hit even once.

Come to think of it, a very similar fight already happened. Not the boxing freak-show matches, but this one:

A supposed genetic freak (listen to people talk about Conor's punching power and keep in mind that Floyd has fought hard hitters before, numerous times) who's a star from a different sport crosses over and fights the best in his division in their sport.
