Are we just going to forget that Khabib just ducked Aldo "to rest"?

So Conor ducked Aldo, Ferguson ducked Khabib, Khabib ducked Aldo, who had already ducked Conor and Conor is ducking Khabib so he wants a fight with Woodley who wants to duck his whole division to fight Bisping who's ducking his own division.

Switch all the d's with f's and you have the best gay porno ever.

Of course khabib would rather fight fergie than Aldo. It's an easier payday.

Aldo would be bad for him. Styles make fights, Joe.

Fuck all of them. This bitching and moaning @ FW and LW since Conor joined the UFC is making me lose interest in these lower weightclasses all together. A male champion going on maternity leave with his girl is bad enough, but even afterwards this shitshow turned into politics.

So yeah, fuck all of them and fuck the UFC especially for allowing it. MMA will turn into boxing and get ruined by money as most other sports allrdy are.
this.

Khabib was offering to pay Ferguson 200K just so he would be able to duck Aldo. I've never heard of a fighter wanting to duck one fighter so badly that he's willing to pay another fighter to fight him.
This is something I find fascinating. People will accuse Conor of ducking when he clearly has to make choices about who is best to fight in order to advance his career/wallet/brand in the time he has available, but fail to notice that every fighter who gets to the top of their division must do this.

"Anyone, anytime" is a great claim, but it's impossible to translate that into "everyone, whenever they want".

He has a crazy streak and wants the title.

Fighting Aldo doesn't get him the title.

Ferguson is the next contender so that gets him closer.

Beating Aldo is beating a smaller guy.

A bunch of people scared to get in the cage talking about ducking.

Why wouldn't guys at 170 not enjoy competing against him? From a financial standpoint obviously but there's no way he could take a shot from Cerrone let alone a full fledged guy at 170.
I'd favor Aldo vs Cerrone honestly. Not against the top guys at 170 but I think he'd be competitive against anyone.

The best LW with 3 top 10 wins(considering he wins against Ferg)
Mind=blown
{<huh}
And ? How many LW did Conor beat ? He is 2-1 in this division. I don't need to see Khabib vs Chiesa, Alvarez or Nate to know who is the best.

Ferguson is a more difficult matchup and a much better win for getting a title shot.

"Conor beat Aldo in 13 seconds, it took Khabib 3 minutes, he clearly is not as good and not deserving of a TS".

It's hard to get those top 10 wins when all the top 10 refuses to fight.

Can you name a single top 10 guy calling out Khabib? Can you name any he did not fight after they asked for him? Can you name the top guys Khabib called out? Can you name the ones who did not sign to fight him after?

Answer that and it makes sense.

Maybe Conor told Aldo to challenge Khabib? He is Aldo's daddy after all.

What makes you side with Aldo against Cerrone? As for the competitive I couldn't see him taking a shot from people like Woodley who cut massive amounts of weight to make the cut, don't forget McGregor has a bigger frame than Aldo and he "Struggled" to make 170 by all accounts so I'd imagine Aldo wouldn't touch it.

Fun to talk about though.

Hmmm, it's late, so maybe my point wasn't clear!

All fighters who approach title contention need to make decisions about whom to fight, and when. Khabib had an offer for an intriguing matchup with Aldo (I never knew I wanted to see that fight until I heard of it), but it isn't the right fight for his career right now.

Does that make him a duck? Not remotely! If anyone were Khabib and had a chance to either fight a FW or instead hold out for a title fight, possibly face the next closest guy for an interim belt, they'd pass on on the Aldo fight in a heartbeat.

It's just find interesting how standards seem to be applied differently to different fighters. Someone like Conor has literally the entire roster wishing to fight him. But he passes on an Aldo rematch and he's a duck? Crazy talk!

"ducking" is getting thrown around too easily. If you're fighting Aldo or Ferguson you aren't ducking. You're just fighting one killer or the other. You can't fight every top guy at the same time.
That's funny...that's the same logic you haters use against conor.

He fights mendes = ducking aldo.
Goes to fight RDA = ducking aldo rematch
Wants to avenge his loss over nate = ducking aldo rematch
Fights current LW champ = ducking aldo.
People suggest he might fight woodley = ducking aldo/khabib/fergie

He's one of the most active fighters on the roster and never pulls out of fights but you guys want him to fight every contender at once.

Are you retarded? He turned down the fight initially, maybe another offer was made, maybe he saw that the UFC wouldn't give him more money and then decided to take the fight, maybe Khabib is paying him 200K to accept the fight, but the facts are he turned down the fight before accepting it.

he realized he was about to fight a ppv main event title fight for a max purse of 108k. His opponent was going to be paid much more than him. (theres a theory floating around that Khabib just renegotiated his contract for points on ppv title fights, which is the reason Tony's management went apeshit and demanded "the same amount" as Khabib)

in any case, the fight has been verbally agreed to on both sides and they are just waiting on an updated bout agreement....which means the ufc and tony's management mustve met somewhere in the middle.

Thats exactly the scenario they want, which is why Khabib smartly was not distracted by it. He wants Ferg or Conor and theres no reason whatsoever it shouldnt happen. They are all available.

im an aldo fan but good god people. if khabib fights aldo, then tony gets the title shot.

why willingly give a title shot away

If you believe what the Aldo camp says: over the past year or so, turns out they are not trustworthy. They claimed that they offered an undisclosed LW fighter a deal for an interim belt fight at LW, so Conor would be forced to face the winner. Aldo's camp maybe thought that it would be his only way to a Conor Fight.

Khabib has his own interest and calendar, if he prefers the more logical fight with Tony, he's entitled. Again, said fighter's identity was "never revealed".

IMO Khabib smothers Aldo for 5 rounds and wins by UD. Aldo has good TDD but Khabib is too big for him: wrestling has tight weight divisions for a reason.

Just skill wise, Aldo is a better fighter than Cerrone. Cerrone has size but it's not to the point where it's scary like someone of Woodley's caliber. I think weight/height is massively ovverated if we are talking just one weight class of difference (at two or more I agree it's a decent to great advantage), which would be none in my eyes. Cerrone isn't a big 170 even. I'd easily take Aldo in this fight.
