Are Fedor fans the GOAT users of the "past his prime" excuse?

Same speed, same power, same accuracy, same killer instinct... what exactly did he not show in the Bonnar fight that wasn't at all exactly like he had in supposed prime?.

Silva looked noticeably slower against Bonnar hence the fact Bonnar landed on him several times. Plus he was 38. If he was as fast as he was when he was in his early 30s then he would be one of the few athletes, perhaps the only one, to maintain their athletic prime until almost 40 yrs old.

Primes exist in every and any sport, if you don't believe this you're living in a fantasy land.

Yeah, his 30 second destruction of Tim Sylvia, and one punch KO of Arlovski really looked bad.

Fedor was the same Fedor he was in Pride, when he lost. It happens. He's not Superman.

At least use the "couldn't adjust to the cage" excuse. This "past his prime" shit is pure nonsense.

His own trainers said he was slowing down around 2009-2010, in one of the promos for the Affliction shows.

Sonnen wasnt winning the silva fight either before he was subbed......
So you are saying that Fedor dominated Hendo the same way Sonnen dominated silva? :D That really is something and probably tells me that there is no way talking to you. Unbelievable :D

Isn't it, you know, far more likely that he had problems with Weidman himself than that his skills had suddenly gone flying out the roof in the like 7 months or whatever between his last fight where he showed everything he always did?

Like come on, you're being delusional here. This wasn't a case like GSP coming back from knee surgery and struggling with Condit, Diaz, and Hendricks, showing that his skills had indeed deteriorated, this was Anderson sucking against Weidman specifically.

If he was 25 I'd agree with you. The dude was nearly 40. A lot of things like punching power or chin are difficult to see, however his speed had clearly declined. He was just better than his opponents

Your favorite fighter will get old and you'll use the same excuse.

Good call, bro, everybody knows that fighters don't experience any physical decline until the day they decide to stop fighting! That's just basic broscience, brah!

No, I saw it. We all saw it. Fedor went limp. He lost.

Your opinion is wrong.

Yeah, it's not like Bigfoot gave Fedor the worst beating of life or anything...
Werdum defeated Bigfoot and Travis Browne. Bigfoot defated Arlovski a few years ago and knocked out Travis Browne. Andrei Arlovski defeated Werdum, then later knocked out Travis Browne AND Bigfoot in the rematch. Fedor brutally knocked out Andrei Arlovski. MMAth much?

Is Fedor the same as he was 10 years ago? No, but it's stupid to think he couldn't at least compete with the top guys today. People claiming that wear and tear on the body after that long in the sport isn't real and calling it an "excuse" are delusional idiots. Nobody in any sport has dominated for 10 years straight in a sport as physically demanding as MMA and been the same at the end. The average career for guys in the top leagues like UFC, Pride, etc, is like 3-5 years before they start a significant drop off.

Even the undeniable greatest of all time in other sports like Wayne Gretzky and Michael Jordan were definitely not the best players in the league toward the end of their careers, but it's harder to notice this in a team sport, while it's more pronounces in a solo sport; and these were sports where you aren't getting punched in the face and going to war with every muscle in your body. 10 years of top level training will burn you out no matter who you are, especially for Heavyweights who are far more susceptible to recurring injuries than the lighter weights; it's just the reality of their physiology. The only way people extend this is through use of PEDs.

BTW The Fedor-Hendo stoppage was bullshit. You can't claim he went limp when you can clearly see his left arm got stuck when he was trying to slip it out from underneath him without leaving him self open for followup shots. Hendo landed one shot, with the next three on the back of the neck/shoulder area and the ref was already jumping in while he rolled to his back as Hendo threw the 3rd one. Fedor's left arm was clearly trapped under from the way he fell forward, so he had no leverage to roll over sooner until he worked it out. Either way, if you t hink it was a good stoppage, fine, I don't really care, but to act like the guy should be fighting at the level he was when his prime was nearly 5 years before that is just plain delusional hatred.

It's not an excuse, it's an explanation you little girl.

Prime Fedor is undefeated. Deal with it.
