Any reason why you aren't using FAFSA or the American Opportunity Tax Credit?

What are you talking about?
FAFSA isn't free money

The tax credit is free money. Used correctly it could pay for an associate's degree.

Maybe I used FAFSA illegally, but in my experience, I fill out an application and the government gives me money with no strings attached.

Edit: Also, I never said anything was free money. Don't misquote me, cunt.

Eurotrash,

My sister got her master's at Cambridge, why didn't you pay for her education? She has loans out the wazoo.

FAFSA depends entirely on how much money your parents have iirc.

Americans are bitching about the cost of education for two reasons.

1: it used to be a lot cheaper, even if I’m real dollars.
2: most Americans aren’t smart enough to realize that it is still worthwhile to get a college degree and pay it off over a lifetime. You still get a good ROI not to mention the intangibles that go along with getting a college degree.

And now it’s time for someone to reply with “what about this or that person who went to college and is working at Starbucks?” Well, they could find a good job if they really looked for one. It doesn’t matter if their degree is in English Lit. There are still many worthwhile jobs out there that lead to higher paying careers where they require a college degree in anything. The people working at Starbucks just are not willing to take those jobs for a number of reasons.

An associates in nursing can make you over 100k if you have work ethic. 200k if you are in California.
You'd want to kill yourself from working all those hours. Side note, most places want a bachelor's for new Nurses now.

One of the guys that works for me makes around 64k and he's gotten $3k in grants over the past four years. Not sure how much you'd have to make to render yourself ineligible.

LOL @ Murkans going into debt for uni

International students pay much more because universities are funded by the taxpayers money, and international students never paid taxes in the host nation.

Americans who complain about education costs.

I guess you were too poor to go to get an education.

We worship money and “capitalism” in America. Any time anyone suggests making anything a social program, Americans are convinced we will become a socialist society. That’s because most Americans don’t know enough to understand that we aren’t actually a capitalist society and that, like most western countries, we are a mixed economy - between capitalism and socialism on the spectrum with each at either end. It’s part of the dumbing down of America where everything has to be simple. It’s either this or that. “You don’t dig yourself out of a hole” - every idiot, every year when the vote on national debt comes. The economy is not as simple as a hole in the ground. But for Americans, it has to be. Thank Karl Rove. He was an instrumental piece in discrediting science and educational institutions in order to align certain religious views with certain political views and create a fiercely loyal base of voters. It is no coincidence that the flat Earthers tend to be devout Creationists.

I don't come here to feel bad, please stop.
