William Finlay who goes by the moniker Wild Bill was detained for 7 hours at the Canadian border because he was found in possession of hate speech on his electronic tablet. He was held and questioned, and eventually released, but his tablet was sent to the Canadian capital for further scrutiny.

The so-called hate speech was critical against Sharia law and Islam, a speech he was due to give in Calgary. A special event permit for the event was denied by Calgary’s Department of Canadian Recreation “on the basis that your organization, and messages it espouses, are hateful.”

Wild Bill claims that this is the speech in question:

It is my opinion that Canada is going too far. Trudeau can't leave quick enough.

We used to be known around the world as canucks, but I think at this point we can drop 2 letters from that.

However , a jihadist could come strolling in with a manifesto and plan to kill as many infidels as possible and the Canadian government would welcome him with open arms

The only good thing to come out of Canada is Theo de Radt

Dang, is it getting that bad that conservative Americans can't even visit Canada?

As crazy as that sounds, you're probably spot on.

Not sure about the hate speech.
But to be fair to Canada, US Americans have the highest murder rate in the western world.
I can understand why they want to secure their border to prevent more violent people from coming into their country.

Americans are the Muslims of the western world.

It's slightly more complicated than that. He was due to give a talk with an organization that is anti-Muslim, so they were expecting him, due to complaints. Basically they ambushed him at the airport.

The problem is that if you listen to his speech, there is nothing that can be categorized as hate speech if you're a normal human being with common sense. This is why M-103 sets a dangerous precedent. But it's Canada, and we pass bills like C-16 and bill 89. We've lost our way.

Don't be too hard on yourselves. We just went through our stage where all logic went out the window and the Islamic Obama Tranny Black Lives Matter Agenda ran everything.

Hopefully you guys get your own Donald Trump to reverse all this crap that's happening to your country.

And we're rooting for you guys.

To stop him, would be a 'hate act'

It's the slow sovietization of Canada, in terms of politics and ideology starting to creep into and take over laws / what is enforced, so instead of being universal they are becoming political agenda driven.

Whoa whoa whoa hold the phones! A foreign national trying to smuggle in illegal material is denied entry! Wow!

Someone better inform Breitbart about this!

Not going to watch 20+ minutes, but from the snippets I watched he isn't calling for violence and therefore it isn't hate speech by law in Canada. You're allowed to say you don't agree with things, you just aren't allowed to call for people to commit violence.

It's so slow that no one notices. Have you ever randomly asked other Canadians what they think of Bill C-16, or bill 89? They have no idea what you're talking about, because they've never heard it. It's a footnote on the news if it's even reported. If it wasn't for Jordan Peterson and Gad Saad, it would have gone by unreported.

detained for 7 (seven) hours for being found "IN POSSESSION" of hate speech

northern wall soon, please
