Guy was the next coming of Tyson. Nobody gave stipe a chance.

Now nobody talks about him.

Does his hype really end that quick? Reem hype lasted for years.
 
I mean, I picked Miocic to win, so evidently some people gave Miocic a chance.

Ngannou can still beat a lot of heayweights I'd estimate. Will be interesting to see who he is matched with next.
 
I think he can knock out anyone in first round in any given fight, stipe just stuck to his MMA IQ/game plan

His bout against Stipe was a massive blow to the hype, and as long as Stipe's the champ I think everyone knows he has zero chance. As long as Stipe can avoid those fists it'll be the same result every time.
 
It's faded, but after 226 it will be back. I think he'll be able to KO Lewis. I mean, before Stipe, he was on a tear.
 
yeah. he got pwned by the champ and can learn and grow from that. and still has that punchin power. he'll be back
 
Ngannou is good. But Stipe had the tools to beat him and a lot of people were pointing that out prior to their fight.

I'm looking forward to Ford Escort vs the Black Beast. I'm rooting for Lewis, but I give the edge to Ngannou.
 
The hype is dead but Ngannou's career certainly is not. He has the physical tools but there is work to be done in the grappling. As it is he is ko's most of the division most of the time
 
I don't think Ngannou can beat well rounded HWs like DC or Werdum (and obviously Stipe) but he can land that punch on pretty much everyone else.
 
Everyone who proclaimed that he would destroy Stipe is an idiot.

Everyone who now thinks he sucks is an idiot. He'll wipe the floor with the Black Beast.

I think you’re absolutely crazy if you aren’t excited to watch Francis fight again. That guy is the definition of dangerous.
 
Ngannou is still very raw. He is a dangerous fighter and will still do well, but he needs time. The wrestling he was totally lost, he didn't even know what to do

He lost to the best HW in history, but destroyed everyone else. Of course he's still relevant.
 
The hype is still alive. He's still in the infancy of his MMA career and should come back stronger after losing a 5 round fight to a dominant champ. It's not like he lost to a scrub. If he can improve his defensive wrestling and follow a smart game plan I can see him being the champ by the end of next year.
