Are fighters only allowed to drink water when they are inbetween rounds?

Or could they drink like vitamin water or energy drinks (without PEDDS)

Always wondered that myself, because I'd be hard-pressed not to gulp a coke in-between rounds...
Anyone know if you can refuse to get cuts cleaned during the fight?

Beer, whiskey, basically the ring girls can bring you anything you want like at a table in a casino.

Yeah i'm wondering about it too

Like when you see those 5 rounds wars, they should have got some sugary shit the last 2 rounds, instead of just water, no?

Imagine if they let Machida drink whatever he wanted in between rounds.

Depends on the commission, most will only allow water. A lot of them require it to be from sealed bottles.

Who wants to drink a can of Coke inbetween rounds anyway? That would only make you burp and slow you down. Water rehydrates best and goes faster to the blood

Pedialyte would hydrate best actually.. but yea only sealed water bottles are slowed both in mma and boxing

the only thing I would realistically want is water or a little bit of gatorade.

Depends on the commission, I think, but usually just water. It's usually like that for wrestling too, at least it was when I was in HS and when I did a little bit of coaching for a few years. Has to be a clear fluid (obviously not vodka, haha), for example, you couldn't give somebody a drink of gatorade.

I'm pretty sure it differs per state. Iirc Texas only allows water and electrolytes.

You're not rehydrating shit during a fight though you can quench your thirst. Slightly.

Dudes aren't chugging water because if they get hit and vomit they get TKO'd.

A sugary drink rehydrates quicker and better but anything apart from water is banned so you don't get a dose of a pick me up. Which has happened in boxing.
