Elections 20 000 Republicans just voted a Nazi through the primaries

I'm gonna assume you are being intentionally dishonest with your comparison of Jackson being re-relected while receiving treatment for Bipolar Disorder to republicans coming out 20k strong for Arthur "nazi" Jones.

Jesse Jackson Jr served from 1995 to 2012. Obviously he was popular among his constituents to win so many re-elections. Instead you chose to misrepresent his last re-election and compare it to a very public Nazi where the party leaders advised their voters not to vote for him.

If you wanted to use Jackson as a talking point you would have done better to point out how he ultimately ended up being a crook, like many Chicago politicians.
Biggest difference being that this guy wasn't endorsed by his part, whereas the bipolar crook was.

I didn't know that a party should completely disown someone for seeking treatment for bipolar disorder (something plenty of Americans have).

Him being re-elected a month after investigations into financial crimes began is a more valid point.

This was more like a fuck you vote in a state that republicans know they have no chance of winning.

Just a way of giving the democrats the middle finger.

Stupid but that's all it is for the majority that voted for him.

Did some white supremacist vote for him? Yes but the number was very small, numbering in the hundreds at most.
How the fuck would you know how many they number? Were you looking for recruits?

It's an Open Primary... you don't have to be registered Republican to vote Republican..

ah was not aware of that.

still it doesn't matter because they have to declare it once they vote later in the primary. just check their voting history in past elections and you can get your answer. still not worth it and I am positively the majority of them were Republicans.

he ran unopposed anyway so he was going to get it even if it was just one vote right? or they don't even field one? why vote for a scumbag either way? your name will be attached to it. I can't see a liberal doing this out of spite but whatever.

in the end a Nazi was voted in the GOP primary... its quite embarrassing IMO.

Ah. That seems pretty conclusive then. Sorry, not a big expert on American Nazism.

Sometimes a question is just a question. No need to be so angry all the time.

Lol why wouldn't you just Google it?

Or maybe the democrats voting him in so it would be an easy win for them...

he ran unopposed. there was no other choice. he or anyone else would get stomped in the primaries in Illinois because its a Democratic stronghold...

easy win regardless of whether he made it or the GOP field no candidates... logic would point to an easier win if the GOP fielded no one but meh... i'll let you believe what you want to believe...

How the fuck would you know how many they number? Were you looking for recruits?

Best guess looking at how many show up for their rally.

But you know all republicans are members of the Nazi party.

700k Republican votes in governor primary. (Same ballot) But the nazi only got 20k. Meaning the vast majority of Republican voters DID not vote for him.

No apparently Nazis are socialist just in name

Communist/socialists are the good guys n nazis are the bad guys

Far left = good guys

Anything right of that = bad guys
No, I have seen enough posts by Conservatives / rightwingers here and elsewhere claiming Nazis are Socialists so Liberals are just like them. Same sort of person also states the KKK are Democrats.

Jones won in 3rd congressional district. Only people in one district could have voted for him. A Governor primary is STATE WIDE. In last midterm primary in this district, only 64k republicans total voted. 1/3rd of the districts republicans still voted for him. And if Republicans cared so my they would have had someone, anyone, run against him in the primary.

In 2000 Rush Limbaugh was urging republicans to vote Clinton in open primary states. Hoping to keep the drama up between Obama and Clinton. It is a tactic in politics.

I'm not a fan of open primaries.

I stand corrected on the numbers.

Why invest any money into a race that you will never ever win? A lost cause.

And you cannot with a hundred percent accuracy say a third of the Republicans voted for him because you don't know how those people are registered

I believe Arthur Jones ran for the 3rd Congressional District. It doesn't represent all of Illinois. If you browse through the thread I've posted results from the 2014 primary election for the 3rd district and it was about 64k for Republican votes. So it's a little less than a third. People are less likely to vote in primaries as opposed to general votes so yeah.. 20k votes is a significant amount of votes in the 3rd District...

What do you mean invest money? They could hvae invested ZERO in the primary besides facebook posts saying "Vote for _______ cuz Arthur Jones is a literal Nazi".

If they don't want to oppose the democrat candidate, then don't spend anything on the campaign. Instead, they chose to do zip and now have the embarassment of having their party and voters associated to a literal nazi.

EDIT
Just realized your last sentence is still running with the "democrats secretly voted for him" conspiracy theory. I only have this reaction to that notion

<{hughesimpress}>

Come on bro , that's just silly in this discussion.

GOP urged its voters to not vote for the Nazi and they still did it.

If you want to believe rogue Democrats voted for him then okay that's what you believe. I am sure its mostly if not all Republicans...

We would have already heard about this if it had been a big enough movement to represent a significant percentage of that 20k.

indeed.. but some people want to entertain that thought because its so difficult for them to see their brethren vote for a Nazi.
