I went to the opening party of the new Youtube Space in Playa Vista (LA). It's a media production complex accessible for free to approved content creators. Seems like Youtube wants to help channels with enough hits up their production value. They're building them in cities all over the world and will be accessibly remotely, somehow.

There were

- 4 green screen stages, one very large for immersible 3D
- A motion capture room
- 2 recording stages/studios
- editing bays
- Screening room with 3000k projector

I miss the star system on youtube. It was a lot better than the silly thumbs up and thumbs down shit for videos. Also the thumbs down option for comments. WTF is up with google? Were they afraid they were hurting someones feelings...
