Some people, especially women, really like kids and are quite good with them. Some dudes are good at playing with kids. I'm don't care for them to be honest.

Yeah they're cute and all, but it's just a small person to me. I don't baby talk them like so many seem to naturally do. I talk to 4 year olds the same I would talk to adults minus swear words. I'd much rather hang out with dogs than kids. I wonder if this makes me weird or if it's normal for a guy.

I don't dislike them and my nephews are cool

But in general I'm not great with kids.

Yes, I talk with kids like adults minus any crazy shit. Honestly, I find that they like it. But then again, I'm not too serious when talking to adults either.

Not really, other than my own. I don't hate them but I feel awkward and uncomfortable around them. Kids have 1 of 2 reactions to me- horror or they love me. No in between.

nah not really. I was about 30 before I met a kid I liked. He was my mate's son and he was about 8 and was a huge Arnie fan. He was literally a smaller version of my friend.
I remember being at a BBQ and he was there and someone asked him "What's your favourite Arnie quote?"
Everyone was expecting "I'll be back".
He thought for a second and said "Fuck you, asshole" (complete with accent)

Generally I find them annoying, awkward, spoilt or disrespectful.
Sometimes all of the above. My upbringing was somewhat strict so when you see some manners or respect lacking it is not endearing.

I too prefer dogs.

I might like that kid.

So far, the only thing I don't like about being a parent is other people's kids. I like my kid though.

One of the reasons I married my wife is because she likes kids in general. I figured at least one of us should.

I've always been pretty good with kids and babies (no :eek::eek::eek:). In some ways I'm better with babies than my wife, they don't really stress me out when crying or whatever. We babysat our 6 month old nephew a while back and he was sick and shitty the whole time, my wife basically left it to me, better for all of our sanity!

All kidding aside, yes I do. I've always been good with kids and worked with them for a while.

Nothing wrong with not liking them either, because they aren't for everyone, but once people express their dislike in a bitter manner or carry this elitist attitude about being child-free, they come across as depressed, world-weary assholes.

Some people are too busy or enjoying life with far less responsibilities. I can't blame them. That shit is fun. Not as rewarding knowing that my son moving out next week and gonna be living in a dorm as a full ride scholar in an engineering university.

I guess it goes both ways. I've met people who get personally offended when I say I don't want kids, who I think are the kind of people who shouldn't have kids. I mostly feel sorry for kids for having asshole parents, because a lot of them do, and there's no guarantee I won't be one.

Only if they're my kids, but in general, no.

Yeah.

I like (not just love) my boys and most kids, but some are little shits.

One of my sons mates is a dick but I like his parents, I struggle to maintain diplomacy on occasion.

Kids like me too, ie babies just smile at me etc so that makes it easier.

Kids over dogs, but I do like that you can just lock the dog out if it's being annoying. That's a pretty significant advantage imo.

They are cute and fun to be around occasionally... more than happy to give them back to their parents to deal with all the usual kid bullshit though.

OK in small doses.
