How and the heck would this fight play out? Super interesting matchup and with Lombard now moving back to 185 it really isn't completely out of the question.

Who takes it and how?

Compared to Lombard, Romero hardly gasses.

Romero wins and I think he could toss Hector around even. Not that Hector couldn't also get the td but he cant hold Yoel down. And Romero doesn't gas that bad so he has the fight if it makes it out of round 1 somehow

I think you are pushing it. In every fight I recall, even vs Brunson, Yoel was looking very fucking tired in the third round. He is lucky that fight wasn't 5 rounds vs Jacare.

Looking at Yoel's record right now, his nickname should be 3rd Round.

Derek Brunson,Lyoto Machida,Tim Kennedy,Ronny Markes all finished by Yoel in the 3rd.

They both train at the same gym so they are probably friends and training partners.

They are also both Cuban superstar athletes so they probably already knowneach other for a while. So it will probably never happen.

But I have never thought of this and this would be a great fight. They are like the same size and age and are both explosive as hell. It would be absolute fireworks. I would pick Romero by TKO after a brutal and fast paced, back and forth, two and a half rounds.

KO'd Ronny Markes in third round - No Name
KO'd Derek Brunson in third round - Shat Himself
Decision'd Brad Tavares in three rounds - Only fight where I recall him not gassing.
KO'd Tim Kennedy in third round - No Mas stool incident.
Decision'd Jacare in three rounds - Got dominanted in third round and was on his way to getting finished.

Long story short, Romero has the tendency to gas, and we all know that. If you are tell me he has a better gas tank than Lombard, I don't care about that, the point is that both gas.

Who cares, he still finished all 4 fighters in the 3rd round.

When a fighter gasses...no finish.
