Yoel Romero Forced A StaleMate By Having No Neck

Sean Sherk was the OG of choke invulnerablity.

Back when Rogan was good, he said "you cannot choke a man who doesn't have a neck" when BJ (or maybe Kenny) was going red faced with his arm fully under Sherk's chin, just unable to force it in.

Bruh he's already had this neck injury since way before Weidman.. but yeah I wish I saw what kind of athlete he would have been in the UFC if he didn't have this injury so he could wrestle even more

He should do something big when he fought Izzy because this will be the last time Yoel will get/sniff a title shot

I mean that was his last shot at the title 4 times no one has more title challenges other than Gustafson he challenged for the LHW title against JJ twice and DC

I gotta agree with you on that.. super disappointed he didn't do more, but I think it's because his offensive lateral movement is meh, he's just very explosive in a straight line

IT should be Costa not Romero but Costa injured himself but he is next in line for the title shot at Izzy on July

Yeah...he lost me right away with his contention that Fury vs. Klitschko was a great fight unappreciated by casuals, and that Fury "boxed a masterclass." Revisionist bullshit. Boring, horrible fight. Fury didn't win that fight, Klitschko lost it.
 
Way back in the day, I trained with a guy that was stocky, but not exactly muscular. He just had no neck. He was a purple belt when I first started rolling with him, and not even the brown and black belts could submit him with a choke. He would just press his chin down. Because of this he regularly stalemated with guys who were much more decorated than him. This is not a myth.

Izzy is probably out for 9 months and Romero is fighting for the belt again

Have you seen Romero vs. Jacare? It's like he's a different person. So much more grappling.
