I will admit I hate that he does it less than I'd like, but at least he doesn't waste it completely like Justin.

People's ignorant argument "Adesanya hasn't faced a top wrestler yet" will tell you Romero doesn't wrestler ironically pretending they know what they're talking about. I've talked to 3 and decided to educate the lost souls I'm not aware of.

In his fightmetric profile, he successfully landed 21 takedowns in his UFC run alone.

Anyway, let's watch a p4p decorated wrestler in action:-

There is plenty more where that came from, but ya'll know how to google or for the real fight fans with a free time, actually watch him fight.

He should/could wrestle more but hasn't got the gas tank for it.
It's not like he's been disappointing with his style anyway.

Bad gas tank and also he has a fused neck. Too bad we couldn't see a healthy 30 year old Romero enter the UFC.

I'll copy paste my last reply:
"The robert fight was two fights ago... he took em down a bunch of times.
The costa fight was his last fight, he took em down once."

idk how close you guys expect this to be... the average MMA fighter fights twice a year, unless you goofs go to Yoel's camp twice a week and watch him fight. Nobody in the entire world of MMA/boxing/kickboxing has fought more than twice this year.
I supplied evidence from last year and the year before.

All this stupidity is making me sick. Adesanya's fans are another level of dumbness. They try too hard, it's just cringe.

It's hard to wrestle somebody when Adesanya runs away all day

He certainly uses his wrestling. But doesn't use it offensively much anymore as he doesn't have the gas tank at his age (as most people have mentioned).

It's definitely annoying when people say someone "doesn't use his wrestling". For Gaethje too. Just cause he's not shooting for takedowns consistently doesn't mean he doesn't use his wrestling. If you listen to Gaethje talk about it, you'll understand that his wrestling background/skills come into play with just about everything he does, with respect to his positioning/movement/footwork/takedown defense/clinch work/etc. Same could be said for Yoel.

That trip on Weidman is a thing of beauty. That is not an easy trip at this level of MMA against high level Opponents. Very tough move to pull off.

then the ease Romero took the back in one fluid motion is something to see.

He does takedows mostly to score points, i guess when people say he doesn't wrestle they actually are trying to say he doesn't "grapple" which is true, yoel doesn't seem to have very good ground control ( or at least he doesn't show it )

No one is saying he didn't wrestle early in his career.

But he's completely abandoned it in the later part of his career. He was literally doing push ups in the octagon after the Israel fight. Maybe he should have used all that extra energy wrestling instead.

Bad gas tank and also he has a fused neck. Too bad we couldn't see a healthy 30 year old Romero enter the UFC.
Fused neck? That explains his striking style. His body type should be perfect for Tyson ducking and weaving and power punches. But that'd be hard with a fused neck..

One of the best TD artists ever at MW. Obviously is not that good at transitions, taking the back, passing guard..nor has the gas tank for that grind.
He is in his 40s, there is no elite wrestler at that age, much less with the mileage and injuries of Romero. He is an absolute legend though.
