Anybody know any details about their business relationship?

The main fights will be broadcast on the AXS TV network starting at 9 p.m. Molotky said the fights will also eventually air on HBO and on some broadcast stations in Central and South America.

The press release also stated they have signed a deal with HBO for the North American market. This accompanied with a docu-series.

Is this just for South and Central America?

It'd be great if HBO and Showtime broadcasted mma.

I don't mean to come across as org bashing but you would think that with HBO's pockets they could have got a deal done with a bigger org.

Maybe they're trying to get a low regional promotion, beef up the roster, and make bigger shows.

HBO has been the biggest and best promoter of combat sports for the last 30 years there is no frickin way they lower themselves to putting XFC on American television

I have a hard time imagining this happening too. It probably has something to do with local tv down there.

Somehow there is a connection though, maybe like how CWFC is on ESPN but not in America.

I cant see HBo in the US airing XFC, they dont seem to care about mma, they are all in with boxing and if they did do mma I cant see them doing a low low level org like XFC.

Agreed. A Bellator deal would be likely especially with Coker and Hershman.

If this is true, HBO likely wants a promotion they can control and completely dictate to. XFC doesn't have much of a roster at the moment (I think), so I could see HBO throwing some money at some more known names that may be coming off their UFC contracts (seems to be some talk that guys will test the market with Bellator under new leadership). Or they could just invest in building their own stars, or maybe both.

Why can XFC do all these cards in Latin America and Australia but they can't do a card in the U.S. anymore? It seems backwards. They used to do shows on AXS TV here fairly regularly.

Competition is prolly easier down there
In the US you got a shitload of regional promotions competing for fighters and the UFC holding cards damn near every week which means small promoters have a hard time getting people to watch their product
Im just guessing but maybe Latin America and Australia is still wide open with no dominant promotion which makes it a lot easier to put on successful money making shows and get tv viewers
