So 300 bucks for what is essentially a smaller version of the One.

500 seems like a good pricepoint for what they are offering though on their beefy machine.

The One has ten year old shitty hardware, it's not right to make that comparison. The S has everything the X has except it's lower in teraflops and has no disc drive.

That is not how I understand the S at all. I am under the impression that it has similar stats to whatever the most powerful system xbox currently has out, but plays series x games.

It is definitely not the same specs as their new flagship.

It's the same exact specs except it's 4 teraflops compared to the Series X's 12. The teraflops can't be compared to the type used in the One consoles as well, they're different. The CPU is the exact same as the Series X which is better than the PS5's. It's also RDNA2 which has oddly yet to be confirmed for the PS5.

This is in no way comparable to the One consoles other than it's low price and being the lower model. The technological differences are massive, it has an SSD and it can do Ray Tracing as an example. Probably won't be used much though..

Considering they won't be having major releases any time soon, they're really gonna have to make some big moves with Game Pass asap. A real shitty launch lineup in Nov, maybe the worst ever.

This is the first time they've officially announced and confirmed the Series S. Makes total sense to make the post exactly about that. Windows Central wouldn't be officially saying the $500 X price if that wasn't the case.
