I mean nostalgia was a big theme in a lot of the positive reviews, that's not exactly doing the same thing per se, but it's still a path I bet Disney execs think they can follow with others
Oh nostalgia absolutely was a big theme with the inital reviews, no doubt.
But at the same time many old-school fans were skeptical that we were getting a... as we call it... 'bait & switch.'
We come in expecting a modern continuation of a show we loved as kids.....and wow.. look at all the modern social issues being shoved in a show that supposedly takes place in 1997.
But that 'bait & switch' didn't happen.
There's only one aspect that make me potentially uncomfortable... Morph being gay, and having a crush on Wolverine.
But I'm pretty sure I know where Beau was going with this. Its about Beau's real-life conflict with developing romantic feelings with friends who are straight.... and how it sets him up for heartbreak.
I have absolutely no problem with that being in an X-Men show.
Otherwise, we received an awesome show with many condensed storylines of classic X-Men arcs.
