We saw some of that in the early UFCs. Two reasonably athletic karate guys or kickboxers who clinched and hit the ground almost immediately...then had no idea what to do.I love watching wrestling matches between athletic people who can't wrestle that shit is hilarious
Oddly enough, Kongo transitioned from being a kickboxer to mostly a wrestler over his career. He did pretty well holding some guys against the cage--along with some help from fence grabs, shorts grabs, knees to the groin, etc. But when he fought actual wrestlers--even LHW ones like Bader and King Mo--it was clear that he wasn't really a great wrestler.Cheick Kongo vs Cro Cop. Granted, it was mainly Cheick holding Cro Cop against the fence when he wasn't hitting him in the balls.
Conor vs Khabib
“Let’s wrestle”
He was drunk and sloppy that night.Conor should of said “I’ll knock you out standing, in the clinch or on the ground” or something like that
Challenging Khabib to wrestle was just silly

Good one. England vs. Ireland in a battle of bad wrestling.Conor v. Paddy. Without BJJ or judo, Paddy's really quite terrible grappling.
Overeem vs. Belfort was cringe as well. Belfort kept pulling guard. Vitor did that against Jones as well.Overeem vs Werdum happened in strikeforce afaik but that was funny one. Werdum tried to give superior position for Alistair and he did not take it. One fighter wanted to stay on his back and other fighter wanted him to stand up from inferior position.
Absolutely last fight you want to show if you try to tell what mma wrestling is about.
LMAO I forgot about Kongo vs King Mo. Kongo had a lot of stinkers in Bellator. He was able to handily beat Alexander Volkov in a boring decision, of all people.Oddly enough, Kongo transitioned from being a kickboxer to mostly a wrestler over his career. He did pretty well holding some guys against the cage--along with some help from fence grabs, shorts grabs, knees to the groin, etc. But when he fought actual wrestlers--even LHW ones like Bader and King Mo--it was clear that he wasn't really a great wrestler.
