Just wanted to clear up this slang term used here often.

The correct term is "woof tickets" not "wolf"

Woofing means barking. In other words you are barking a lot with nothing to back it up. Hence "woof tickets".
Empty tickets you can't cash.

"Wolf ticket" makes no sense.

From the prestigious Urban Dictionary:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wolf tickets:

The phrase "wolf ticket" is the result of a misunderstood African-American slang expression for the practice of verbal intimidation, "sellin' woof tickets," that was incorrectly transposed by whites.

Discuss.

I can pick up the pieces and move on with my life now.

did you wear your wolf shirt as you were typing up this thread?

This has legit been keeping me up the past four nights. Thank you, OP, for clearing this up for me. I've been using 'wolf tickets' for years now but I knew, just knew, that something was off about it.

wolf tickets is better. It can mean the same exact thing and doesn't sound nearly as ridiculous as "woof tickets".

Ha ha I remember thinking wtf is wolf ticket supposed to mean during the GSP-Diaz build up.

That expression was in every thread for a while but I never bothered to ask.

And if I did most answers would have been "don't be scared homie" or something.

I had that shit on cassette back in the day.

Trying to correct the English of people who are obsessed with alphas and cuckery is a lesson in futility, my friend.

Both make sense. I always figured it was "Wolf Tickets" as in like the boy who cried wolf: talk a lot of shit, but at the end of the day, nothing to really see.

Hmm. I never thought of that.
