"Marvel writers, including original Punisher creator Gerry Conway, specifically cite the popularity of the character among conservatives as the reason for his virtual elimination. As Newsweek noted, the Punisher was “problematic” for Marvel because conservatives liked him too much. He represents the every-man: He has no superpowers, he's not a billionaire like Batman, but he still fights evil with an immovable will and a lot of guns. "

I'm surprised they didn't just turn him into a trans sissy

This is talking about one of his storylines not the tv show. He got supernatural powers and began killing at a mass scale. He had the ability to judge sin in the heart of men so he just killed without care.

I never understood why law enforcement took up the punisher logo. The character exists because the cops and laws in his universe are bullshit. They couldn’t do anything so the punisher exists.

Lol that site is trash. A limited series comic is coming to an end. Some shitty blog is attempting to tie the end of the series to some comments the people making the Netflix Punisher show said a few years ago when some far right militia types were seen wearing the Punisher symbol. The Punisher isn't going anywhere. Jon Bernthal is coming back to play him in the new Daredevil series.

How commies infect and take over EVERY mfin'g institution they can get their hands on:

"Disrupt and dismantle"

"Defund the _____" (cancel all "problematic" things and fire or make life as miserable as you can for the OGs so they quit, like nurses, and cops, and firefighters and military)

Install the new regime with top-down DEI policies and enforce them

"Refund" what was previously defunded, then come out with "inclusive" bastardized aberrations of the what previously great

Doesn't matter if the stock tanks, their goal is to subvert a company or kill it if they can't.

As a fan of The Punisher, I don't care.

Marvel has been sicking leftist d*** for years now and their sales have been in the shitter for even more years. And this is one of the biggest reasons why : agenda-driven writers being in charge of properties they have no respect for.

My respect for Punisher began, and ended, with Garth Ennis's run with Born & Max Punisher.

No film producer would have the balls to closely adapt this series.

Edit - By the way, a YouTuber I like named 'Razorfist' made a LONG review for 2008's Punisher Warzone, RIP Ray Stevenson.

Highly recommended.

The description they're using; he has no superpowers, he's not a billionaire like Batman, but he still fights evil with an immovable will and a lot of guns; does make the character sound awesome. The way grown men put Punisher logos on their shirts, backpacks, jackets, as decals on their cars, was cringe as hell though. I liked the way Frank Castle was depicted in Daredevil, but seeing all the frumpy cops and counter-protesters walking around decked out in Punisher merch, it made the character feel cheaper and kind of lame to me. You could take on maybe the ideals of the character - the good aspects, anyway - you're not supposed to literally dress like a 40-year-old overweight comic book nerd.

Ideals of the character you say.....

"Proceeds to buy a lot of guns and shoots up local gang house"

Lol this being moved to war room btw

I read about this like 2 weeks ago and was waiting for the inevitable war room thread of people who don't read the comics or the article

It's a limited series. Hell be back eventually. Or do y'all forget what happens in comics. Fkn even superman has died thousands of times
