A guy i know from another site is from the UK & told me me his son got his black belt in jui jitsu at 13 years of age. I was like wow i think thats very hard to do what school does he train at? Sure enough it isn't bjj it's wierd traditional ju jitsu that looks ridiculous & fake. here's a video:

I guess he doesn't know the difference between bjj & this traditional stuff. I told him that alot of these techniques are not used in MMA at all & that he should enroll his son in bjj or judo & he got all ticked off, he says it's the hardest thing he's ever done & a great martial art.

i feel bad for his kid training these awful techniques for years & having no clue that they really wont work in mma of a real fight. Wish i could convince his dad to get him into bjj but the guy is very stubborn.

its better than nothing, and the kid is only 13 years old, let him be happy.

I've seen those WJJF videos before. It'd bad but its not even the worst JJJ I've seen before (which isn't saying much).

TS where do you train? Why don't you invite them to your academy to roll.

I'm in california & the guy & his kid are in liverpool. People out there really don't know alot about mma. In fact I only met this guy cause we are both hardcore boxing fans, he doesn't watch many ufc fights.

I check & told him that there is a BJJ blackbelt in his area, but he insist WJJF is the hardest thing he's ever trained in & insists it is what's best for his son. Poor kid.

So blocking strikes transitioning into throwing and restraining don't work in a fight? Jiu Jitsu old school has been proven to be more effective through MMA/BJJ bad practice habits and sparring habits are the real killer.
