I think it’s fairly obvious given Stipe’s record at heavyweight, but Dana has clearly disliked him ever since he complained about his pay against Overeem and then refused to let Dana put the belt on him after he beat up Ngannou.

I think in this case Dana will likely have to let it go, as there’s value in recognizing Stipe as the UFC’s heavyweight goat, especially with Francis blacklisted and Jon jones likely only fighting once more if he gets the White House main event.

Arguably the greatest UFC heavyweight ever, no?

Whatever makes Jones look better, with regards to being a fighter, will eventually happen, imo

He’ll probably go in next year, or 2027.

Considering some of the people in there. It’s a given the guy with the most consecutive defences at HW will be inducted.

The UFC liked Stipe enough to give him a free payday vs Jon even tho he hadn't fought in years, clearly they don't mind celebrating him.

That was for leverage against Ngannou. Francis kod Stipe in the rematch so they needed somebody new to promote who’d never lost to Francis that they could claim Francis was scared of. They sacrificed stipe to give Jones the bragging rights

You think they’ll induct Big Tim as well?

Would be foolish if he didn't get in. Most HW title defenses in a reign, 2 time champ, wins on his resume over Daniel Cormier, Francis Ngannou, Alistair Overeem, fabricio werdum, JDS, Hunt, Arlovski, Big Country. Not sure how that wouldn't be hall of fame worthy.

He deserves it but it wouldn't surprise me if Dana's dumbass withholds him ala Frank Shamrock.
