Most Dagi fans aren't from Dagestan unless that regions English has gotten significantly better, so I suppose the common denominator is some type of Pan-Muslim thing. Much of the "Dagi" fanbase pretty much makes the Dagi fighters seem like mythical gods and don't really care much about what other fighters do, which can certainly rub people the wrong way.

They dont cross into insulting others for their religion, which in English speaking zones would be a difficult thing to do. But I can see why they harbor a strong reaction. It's shameful that people insult them for their religion, but I think some of it is also just rooting against guys who are supposed to be unbeatable and a group of fans that are very loud about it.

It is a Pan-Muslim thing and they are not just Dagi but in general Muslim fans. Since 2018 we got shitloads of them on the dawg and all they do is cheer for Muslim fighters and bash every other fighter who is not muslim but challenges a muslim in any way, either a fight or rankings, records, whatsoever. The only time they praise a non-muslim fighter is when this praise can boost a muslim fighters reputation, and that can change depending what they need for their agenda.

Moosajev is just one of those guys and when you look through his posts you will find hundreds of examples where he will find issues with every non-muslim fighter (losses, ducking, mentally weak, behavior erg) while on the other hand he virtually fellatios muslim fighters for being close to god like human beings.

Bashing somebody because they are not same as you, in this case not being muslim, is no better than bashing somebody because they are something you are not.
 
Interesting to see how Paddy went from a charismatic can to a legit LW. I'd like to see how far he can go. Honestly he's going to have a huge advantage over top LWs with his age alone. I can see Paddy get up to any ranking besides champ because my brain can't comprehend any way he beats Islam.
 
Paddy lacks the great equalizer which is power.
His hands and defense is just bad and if he ever reaches the top5, he won't stay there long.

Nobody thought Khalil had a chance and was a walking KO meme in that fight

Conversely, everyone thought Umar was going to run through Merab like a hot knife through butter

That’s the majority of the reason why the reactions are so different

You’re so full of shit it’s not even funny. I’ve praised and criticized all kinds of fighters. Max Holloway has always been one of my favorite fighters, I’ve always rooted for Dustin Poirier, always been a fan of Jiri. You only focus on when I praise Muslim fighters and when I criticize non-Muslim fighters because you’re a Serb who hates Muslims because that’s part of your national identity. Even if every Muslim fan were the most well behaved in the world you would STILL hate every Muslim fighter because that’s who you are. I’m not from the Balkans, it’s not my fault the Ottomans ruled over you for hundreds of years, let it go lol.

I wasn't very interested in Paddy when it was predominantly his charisma that was getting him attention, and my perception leaned a bit negative after the Gordon fight. Lately I have taken a liking to him, for his surprising fighting skills and successes. Looking forward to his coming fights, and agree he has an age advantage over most in the weight class. I think he could get the belt one day, depending upon how long Islam and others stay in the division, or when and how they suffer their inevitable declines.
